Why not hire Kiffin AND Tee

That would make zero sense for Tee.

This. Tee's next logical career step is head coach. The only way we entice him to Knoxville is head coach, or OC/AHC and head coach in waiting under a short term option like Fulmer or Cutcliffe (who has already said, no thanks).

Because I’d say, Tee doesn’t want to move away from Southern California just to stay as OC. But that would probably be my #1 preferred staff right there. I have a feeling they would kill it recruiting in the south. Atlanta would be ours.

Tee is not going to make a lateral move; he will stay at USC until he gets a HC offer.

The problem with getting anyone right now is will they want to work with an admin that appears to be a trainwreck? Will anyone want to be hired by an AD that may very well be a lame duck?

Will probably take someone with a genuine desire to be here compared to where they are now.

Kiffin it is then

I wish, but I believe the only way Tee comes is if he becomes the HC.

My list.

1. Kiffin
2. Tee/Brohm (would be happy with either one)
3. Who cares if it isn't one of those names we'll be googling.

Why wouldn't Kiffin be a short term option? If he does what most people are afraid of him doing, Kiffin will win big here for a few seasons and then bolt somewhere else... leaving behind Tee as the next logical option as coach.

UF didn't have a smooth transition because they were presumably ready to announce Kelly until UCLA fired Mora and Kelly let it be known that was where he would rather be. UF's saving grace was that Stricklin was Mullen's former boss at MSU, and they had a good relationship, so UF was saved from what could have been its own disaster. I think Mullen will prove to be the better hire because he already knows the pressure that comes with being in Gainesville.

Would u still want Kiffin back if he couldn't get Tee back here ? Most people I see assume Kiffin would easily get Tee to come back but I honestly don't see that happening

Kiffin wants to be back. Tee Martin would be an OC for Lane. Lane give him the opportunity to be where he is now. An OC at a top 10 Program

no doubt in my mind that Lane would come back...Tee, not so sure...not my first choice, but hey, they haven't contacted me so we gotta have somebody...Steele, Venables, Norvell, Pruitt,...Mr.Currie has got to broaden his mind, shut his mouth, and listen to some VFL's advice...he doesn't know a damn thing about football...he's a bean counter in a suit...and, as always...

GO VOLS!

FWIW, Jeremaine Copeland tweeted yesterday he’d come back and coach WRs if Tennessee hired Kiffin and Tee.

I have no interest in Tee Martin being here

Top 3 would be Campbell, Brohm, or Frost
Not sure if any of those are still an option

Lane and Tee would be great, though I honestly prefer Briles as OC. Maybe Tee as QB coach/Associate Head Coach so that he can be groomed to take it over one day.

double Tee salary. And when lane leaves for the NFL Tee gets the promo. It actually could be a good setup

To me, the best steps would be:

1) Replace Curry with David Blackburn, the guy that the real football people at UT were grooming for the job when "something happened" to put the brakes on.

2) Hire Tee as HC. A long list of excellent coaches have moved to HC from coordinator positions. Hard to imagine our program being in worse shape, so what is the risk? Tee is very highly thought of as a coach and would unite Vol nation. Let Coach Fulmer act as senior advisor (the two together brought an NC), and let Tee grow into the job. Imagine how he would be regarded if he brought the Vols back (and stayed). Imagine the excitement as a rebuilt REAL Vol team started to win again.

3) Thank the Haslam family and dial back their influence. It hasn't worked. Look where we are.
