His best win was last week against Ole Miss. He has beaten Elon, Army, Presbyeterian, UMass, UConn, Wake Forest, UK twice, and Ole Miss twice as part of his 13 wins. That is good for Vandy but not for UT.

Franklin has a top fifteen recruiting class at Vandy. Vandy?!?!

He gets the most out of his players. They are in every game and win games that they shouldn't.

He wouldn't be my first choice but to say what he is doing at Vandy isn't impressive is just ignorant.

He's taken a garbage program and made them average. He's beaten a bunch of bad teams and even lost to a horrible UT team last year coached by Dooley. He still has yet to beat a team with a winning record. Frankly, (no pun intended) I'd rather eat my own sh*t than have Franklin on the UT sideline.

It's Vandy. It's Bobby Johnson's 2 star players. They have never cared about football. They beat our eyes shut after we said their defense has played nobody. Wake up, the administration better wake up fast as well. One good hire and 25 more consecutive wins are coming.

Said on tv tonight that Franklin already has commits from 9 guys that are all 4* players and he got them to commit to Vandy of all places.

That's huge for Vandy since they mostly could only get 2* and 3* players and he stole a couple of guys away from us last season and he got a guy last year whos Mom and Dad both graduated from Tennessee and 1/2 their house is full of UT gear but he still talked him into signing and going to Vandy.

I want a NCAA investigation into how much $$$ he's secretly getting to those kids and their parents.

I'm not advocating the hiring of Franklin but he's the football version of Bruce Pearl. Just about all UT fans loved Pearl while the rest of the league hated him and UT fans loved that as well.

What would UT's 2012 record be if Franklin had been the coach? You can't know for sure but I'd say UT would already have 8 wins.

Dont want Franklin, basically because his offense sucks. But his defensive staff is lights out. Id love to have them. We'd be 10-2 with that dc.

I'd rather have Franklin than a lot of the other names floating around. All these people saying he's no good are morons. Just a week ago, there were a few people saying he was "the same as Dooley." The truth is that some fans can't ignore their emotional biases to see that Franklin is an excellent coach.

He's winning at Vanderbilt. F@#$ing Vanderbilt! It's not like he's at Alabama going 7-4, with a 5-3 record in the conference. That wouldn't even be that bad at 'Bama or Auburn, but at frickin' Vanderbilt?! Vanderbilt is where coaches go to die.

Even Bobby Johnson, who was a great coach btw, only got Vandy to one 7-win season his entire tenure there. Franklin now has Vandy in its second bowl game in two seasons. He has a chance for an 8- or 9- win season at Vandy. That's a Steve Spurrier at Duke-like achievement if he pulls it off.

Would you rather have this:

Franklin pre-games

Or Dooley's constant excuse-making?

Other than Gruden or another successful NFL coach, I'd put Franklin as the next best person out there. Those that can't see are crazy. James Franklin is a much better hire than Chris Petersen (who might be dramatically overrated --- see Dan Hawkins at Colorado.)

Franklin has the #21 recruiting class right now --- at F#@$ing Vanderbilt! He's outrecruiting Tennessee! How many times has that happened in the past five decades?

You want to know where Vandy's recruiting classes were before? In 2010, around #54. In 2009, at #72. In 2008, at #74. In 2011, #49.

Really? Are people so blind they can't see how this guy has completely turned the least resourceful program in the entire SEC into a winner?

I'm not saying he should be our first target, but he should definitely be on the list.

I hate James Franklin but I would rather have him than Golden, Smart and maybe Strong or Petrino (not sure about Petrino...I know he can coach just not sure he could bring the fanbase back together...of course winning cures a lot). Obviously he's way behind Gruden, Patterson, Petersen, Mora, Jr., and Stoops. I also would probably rather have Shaw or Fisher. Of course I don't have any idea who we really have a shot at getting.
