Why not Franklin?

To think that James Franklin could turn us around. The guy has turned an extremely bad situation around and can recruit in the sec. Plus he wins with less talent and don't forget if he gets a PI call he might beat US east!

He has done an amazing job at Vanderbilt. His recruiting success is unreal (even considering how much Dooley has helped him out by being utterly incompetent).

That said, we deserve better than Franklin. There are plenty of guys more proven than him.

We've already tried hiring a douchebag. He left after one year. Let him be a dick at Vanderbilt. Makes beating them even more satisfying.

I would take him over Smart or any other top Coordinator. I don't think he gets a look due to being hated by TN for being Vandy's Bruce Pearl. I also doubt he would consider TN, because he hates TN more than the TN fans hate him.

now comes the "why does he hate Tennessee? what did we ever do to him?" posts.

Mr. Freak. I know you created a coaching rumors forum. Could you create a "Not So Intelligent Threads" Forum? :)

Because we've already had one arrogant, attention hungry, rules violating douchebag of a human being as HC in the last 5 years. How did that turn out for us?!?!?! I don't want to relive that again any time soon.

It is a hopeless situation if the University of Tennessee has to steal the head football coach of Vanderbilt University in order to improve the Vol program.

I am getting sick just reading this thread.

Last time we stole the coach at Louisiana Tech who had a losing record. A coach at Vandy with a. 500 record is a step in the right direction.... :dance2:

Please look at the teams he has beaten. Please. It is not hard to beat Elon, Army, UConn, Wake Forest, Kentucky (twice), Ole Miss (twice), Auburn, Presbyterian, and UMass. Bad bad teams. He had a losing season last year.

Please no.

and Mizzou. With VANDERBILT. Vanderbilt was/is a "bad bad team" but he has made them competitive in a very short time. You can't compare Vanderbilt success to TN success. Any success at Vanderbilt against ANYONE says something.

No it doesn't. Elon, Army, Presbyterian, and UMass are a third if his wins. 3 of them are basically FCS schools. Look, he has done a good job, but his record is not as good as people think. Before his wins against UK and OM this year the combined record for the teams he has beaten was like 20-44.

Not. What. We. Want.

Do you not look at the facts? I am not advocating for Dooley but we played Arkansas, Bama, and LSU last year and Bama and MSU this year. Who did they play? They get Ole Miss as their permanent West team. Just look at the facts.

Why are you so proud of our losses to all of these conference teams? We have the best facilities, largest recruiting budget and one of the largest coaching payrolls in the nation and you are bragging about the games we lost?????? The College of the Ozarks could lose to Arkansas, Bama, LSU and MSU just like we did. Ole Miss would have beat us yesterday. Franklin has his team believing in themselves, which is what makes a quality coach. Franklin and his staff would be a huge upgrade from what we have now. Go ahead and make fun of Vandy all you want, but unlike UT, their program is headed in the right direction.
