Why not Bill Cowher?

the I'm a mfing soldier earned him whatever ridicule is coming. He knew the camera was there and knew exactly what he was saying. He could have just as easily strolled to the shower to have is little tirade, but he wanted it publicized.

Not quite. He was going nuts from the time they got back into the locker room until after the cameras were shut off.

I don't buy it. He knew the camera was there and he knew he was going to be publicized.

Was there really a coherent thought anywhere in his rant? If he had actually thought about what he was going to say, would it have really sounded the way it did?

I am assuming yes. He wasn't trying to form thoughts. He was parading for the cameras, IMO.

probably about as wrong as yours is, but who's keeping score.

The fact that I can pick up the phone and call someone who was around Kellen in that locker room for his entire Miami career says otherwise.

I'm not going to vilify someone who plays with the intensity of Kellen for being more than a little upset after losing a game that they shouldn't have lost. He's a guy that, if he'd come to UT, would be talked about in the same awed hushed tones that Al Wilson is from the standpoint of intensity and vocal leadership.

Which begs this question. If Al Wilson had gone nuts after, say, the Memphis game in 1996 and said exactly what Kellen had said, would he be vilified here? Would anyone be saying he's a punk, a jerk, a jackass, a taint, or whatever else? Or would it be, "He's extremely intense and was mad about losing a game they shouldn't have lost. Don't judge him by a post-game tirade."

Did anyone hear the words Bill Cowher come out of Drew Edwards mouth yesterday after the press conference on Volunteer TV? Could have been a hint!

I know how everyone is on spelling errors.

it was a joke lighten up. Plus you throw out a post like that with such conviction but no commentary and spelling is all we have

I am not sure if there is any chance at all of Cowher coming to UT, but Mike Hamilton is crazy if he doesn't at least make an offer. All he can do is say no. Cowher is #1 on my list. Not John Gruden, not Mike Leach, certainly not Muschamp, but Bill Cowher. I think he would be awesome. Talk about bringing discipline back to a program, wow! Gruden might bring discipline as well, but what Cowher has done in the NFL is impressive!

No doubt we can give him the money, but is he even interested?

That is the 5/6 Million Dollar question. He is top of the list and I feel pretty good that Haslam will convince him to come on over. It is my understanding that money will not stand in the way. Haslam wants to win, period.

Every time I hear something like this I immediately think of this picture.

All it takes is money, if I were Hamilton I would set up a meeting with Cowher and write 6 zeros on a sheet of paper and slide it over to him and tell him to put a number in front of it.
