Why Not Bill Bates

We don't need a special teams coach to recruit much.....We need him to ****ing coach.....teach how to tackle primarily.......you have another dumb analysis.
It takes WAY more than having good tacklers to be successful on special teams, so I question your analysis :dance2:

Seriously though, tackling has been an issue but our schemes, coverages, etc have been awful for as long as I can remember.

It would be fun to have Bates, but if he doesn't have a passion for coaching, then I don't want him. There are a lot of great players that CANNOT coach and some that can.

I would love to see UT place an emphasis on special teams. It always seems they are an afterthought. Like, hey we've got 15 minutes left in practice, what do you want to do - practice special teams?? This coaching position usually goes to someone who has never coached it before and is left to "figure it out". Or the HC takes on the responsibility. No time or attention devoted to special teams = sucky performance.

My comments about dumb post are people's opinions and comments disputing and claiming that all of us fans just want an entire staff laced with past Vol greats. To me that analysis is dumb and incorrect......That's all! Sorry your feelings and hurt.....

You didn't hurt my feelings and you have yet to prove one single point other than you don't listen to things but prefer to fly off the deep end and toot your horn about nonsense.

Bates was a classic overachiever.
Someone too slow and small to be successful at the NFL but overcame that.
They usually make good coaches IMO.
