Why no Smoky Greys this year?

And its not just that we have lost wearing them, we have lost PAINFULLY both times.

Just incase y'all have forgotten and want the pain brought back:

1st time: "Howard leaps and extends for the touchdown.....and fumbles for a touchback. FG Georgia. Game Over."

2nd time: "And the Vols have stopped Vandy on 4th down to win the...oh wait, the refs are reviewing the play...1st down Vandy. TD Vandy. Game Over."

Losing is one thing. But losing games that you have won and then lose...ouch.

Surprised we werent wearing the grey unis for the LSU and UNC games in 2010.

Yep, win or lose has nothing to do with the color combination of the uniform. I don't matter the one they wore last year. I will be extremely upset if they try to wear something like the attrocious uniforms that Louisville had on last night. It looked like a bunch of men running around in their thermal underwear. If it wasn't for the logo on the field, you would have no idea what team it was.

Josh Dobbs came into alumni hall a couple weeks ago and I was talking to him about the smokey greys. He said that their greys looked nothing liked the ones in the store, and are basically just grey versions of the orange home jerseys

We play at Vandy, unless they would agree to it we would have to wear white. We would only wear grey at home or a bowl game.

The grey jerseys from last year looked awesome. The only arguments against them are the traditionalist that think it should only be white and orange, and the people saying we've lost twice in them. To the people saying we've lost twice in them i counter argue we've lost plenty in recent year in any uniform variation out there, including the all the traditional variations.

I'll agree i dont think we should go overboard like Oregon, and most universities across the country would never do it. Little changes here and there deff wont hurt, if anything it helps in my opinion. Majority of teams are shaking their jersey combo up, even if its using flat/matte colors on the helmet. The flat/ matte orange would look amazing in my honest opinion, and if i remember correct in one of the helmet design threads someone posted it(I'll look for it).

I actually saw it on BR, voted as one of the best designs of any team if I recall correctly.

I thought Louisville had some nice jerseys last for an adidas school. Id like to ssee some helmets like those .

I'm serious.. they do look better. go greys full time and have black and orange for alternate. those 2 are much better.. well I like the all white too though. ok.. greys home.. white away.. black alternate.

they only did it to sell more UT apparel ,now it is a mix of gray and orange in a lot of games,it is butt ugly to me and yes i am old :) it has all ways been orange and white for me and it will all ways be,can't they just do something with the colors we have ?

Our offical colors are Orange, White and Smokey!!! So any argument against Smokey because it's not our color is misguided because it is in fact an offical color of The University of Tennessee.

The only argument against is tradition and I do understand this. There will always be a divide when traditions get altered.
