CDD is putting together a great class right now. I'm completely stoked, he's signed some great lineman and is still in play for even more. But I keep noticing that we havent signed a single serious MLB prospect, nor do we even seem to be in the hunt for any.

Any comments on why this is so? Are we planning on moving a RB prospect to MLB? Or going with what we already have?

But other than my bIatching about MLB's, I'm more than satisfied with this class so far.

Yes thats true, we do have one (AJ Johnson). I shouldnt have said 'none'...but I doubt he will actually play LB, more than likely DE.

Scout.com: Football Recruiting

And there is that OLB Christian Harris, but he's not really a MLB prospect.

So is that it? Are we going after anyone else, or going with what we have?

Dawson is an OLB. I guess he could play MLB, but are we recruiting him as such?

I guess I should have made it clear: I'm talking about MLB's.

So Johnson is it, then? We're not going after any other MLB's?

To answer your question, Yes, AJ Johnson is the only MLB prospect that Dooley and Co. is targeting. He is a top 10 LB so I think it's safe to say that this is a good pickup.

Thought process problems, much?

No need to get fussy. We all want Interior Linebackers but its just not in books for Tennessee to get more than one this year. Besides, We have Austin Johnson.

It looks that way, yes. It appears we will land only one MLB, and he will likely play DE. he will be a great one for us, I agree, just not at MLB.

So basically, we're not getting a single serious MLB prospect.

It's all about team need. The guy could use some speed training but if he has the will, he'll stick at LB.

He's not going to play DE here. We recruited him as a LB and he will play LB - if we had recruited him as a DE he would have gone to Florida as a DE considering that's where they offered him to play (but not at LB) and he's set on playing LB.

True. And this is an excellent class. But he'll play where the coaches tell him to play, I hope.

I wish I had your crystal ball. Mine says he'll be an average major-level MLB or an elite major-level DE. Can I download yours somewhere? :dance2:

I see where you get your name from.

Go get some coffee, pedant.

Prospt will more than likely start as a MLB to add to Austin Johnson. I believe we are recruiting Maggit as MLB too. If we are going to run a 4-2-5 and implement other packages this year due to depth in the backfield/line, I doubt we need to be that deep at the position. We will be okay.

Are we forgetting about the top run stopper in the nation in last year's class, Jerod Askew. As far as I know, he was a redshirt last year. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Doubt he'll ever do anything.

There is no way AJ will play DE. He is being recruited as a LB. Plus next year we will have Propst and Austin Johnson as MLBs.
