So...can someone please make a logical case why I don't want to see #17 on Saturday (and I don't mean Tee Martin, although...never mind)? Exclude the arguments about practice performance, attitude, looks, who looks better in a beard, etc.
I would love to participate but I don't have enough information in regards to the differences between the 2 quarterbacks using this system. All I have to go on is what the coaches continue to say since there is so little data on Stephens with this system.
The staff continues to say Crompton gives the team best chance to win. That is the only creditable data I have to offer...
They will argue 2 things:
1) 3 offense staffs have evaluated Stephens & went with different QB's
--> This is a poor argument b/c the first staff (under Cutcliffe) had Ainge, when Stephens was a true freshman (2006) and a redshirt Freshman (2007). The 2nd staff (Clawson & Co.) did opt for Crompton (based mainly on the Spring & pre-season camp), but they pulled the plug after Crompton threw 4 ints and only 2 tds through 4 games. They went back with Crompton for the last few games of the season, but he was rarely allowed to throw the ball. The 3rd staff (Kiffin) ignored the previous year's results at their own peril and evaluated Crompton to be the better QB during the Spring and Fall camp. We know how that has gone so far as Kiffin is forced to run the ball too much and call screen after screen.
2) Stephens didn't play well last year.
--> Again this is a bad argument. Though he had a very poor start against Wyoming, he played well in games against Bama, UGA and MSU. Which are much better games to evaluate do to outside circumstances affecting the Wyoming game. His stats are better than Crompton's. Check it.
When your defense loses an ex-walk-on MLB for the season and it's a big deal, you have an obvious talent problem.
.
Great analysis. Now tell me, based on the numbers, why N. Stephens shouldn't start on Saturday. If you don't understand the question, I'll have a translator contact you.
My thoughts are this about Saturday -
1. Either Tennessee wins, or
2. the Crompton era is over.
No inside scoop, just think with the bye week that the change will be made if we lose.
Then I hope he knows how many are falling off the train. Crap, man, this is Ga week and I haven't even been looking at JACK!!! I'm telling ya, if you were there last week and understand the game, then you feel like I do. Plain and simple. I'm dead serious when I say that I'm having a hard time watching this crap product. I don't care what the reason is....it HAS to get fixed before the wheels start to fall off. Saying Crompton is our qb is saying we lose. Why Stephens won't start against Georgia- Lane Kiffin says so.
I guess Kiffin realizes that it's unwatchable... based on his facial expressions, I'm pretty sure he does... even so, he's apparently not going to bend on playing his system..I'm dead serious when I say that I'm having a hard time watching this crap product. I don't care what the reason is....it HAS to get fixed before the wheels start to fall off. Saying Crompton is our qb is saying we lose.
