Why?? Look at the threads.... WE WON

For what its worth, BYU just upset a top 25 USC team. That team was not a pushover like many thought, UT controlled that game till overtime. Vols are getting better every week.

I'll admit it surprised me that BYU won; but at the same time USC is probably a 7-5 team and will be getting a new HC.

My point is that the constant negativity, regardless of warranted or not, is exhausting and contagious. You speak of fans being fanatic but are they really? Or do they simply enjoy the drama that the negativity brings? I don't see the majority of them being fanatics at all. Just the opposite. I see them as being fair-weather fans that jump on the bandwagon when we are rolling and whiny ass drama queens when we're not. Anyone that's been around or watched football realizes that we have issues, but we also have a lot of positives to go along with it. At any rate Its a message board filled with a bunch of anonymous people that are completely irrelevant in the scheme of things anyway, so I guess its simply a moot point. I used to come here to actually talk football, get some news about the team, opinions on subject matter etc. Not anymore, it's just a big bitch fest.
The fact that they are miserable is proof of their fandom. It's much easier to not care, move on and jump off the bandwagon. The fact they are passionate and upset shows they care. The minute they stop is the minute apathy sets in and that stadium will be half empty and taken over by rivals for good, no more home field advantage. Embrace those that are passionate, either way, at least you know they care.

We can agree to disagree. I respect your opinion and can admit that in some cases it is valid. Here for the majority, not so much.

Look, all I am saying is that this is not the UT locker room. It isn't the film room. It's. a. message. board. I think we take ourselves a littttttle too seriously around here sometimes. I'm not saying you're right or wrong. I'm just saying that WHATEVER you say, you have the right to say it.
How about the same posters that REPEATEDLY bash the Same player over and over and over again and again and again ? To the point it’s a personal issue. Ever goin todo anything about this ?

This post needs to be pinned.
Pinned to what? So you feel like some child that comes on here day after day whining and complaining about something they have zero control over is a good thing? You believe that just because these sad sacks that obviously get off on the doom and gloom and all the BS drama is a good productive thing? It's toxic. It fosters a loser mentality. And since when did it become normal or ok for someone to be attacked for finding the positives in something? But hey if Freak and the staff are good with it and have zero desires to curb it with a little to no moderation then so be it. I'm just a guy that's been around here since 2007 so what the heck do I know.

And you guys are already counting Florida as a loss. The lot of you never played football its obvious. The Team believes why cant you?
This is always such a bad argument. I’ve never flown a helicopter. But if I saw one in a tree, I could still be like, ‘Dude messed up. It’s not supposed to be up there. That’s pilot error.'

I try to be as quick as I can when posts get reported, but I am at work most of the day and can't be on the internet. Sorry. :(

Unfortunately, Tennessee is going to lose to Florida, but life goes on. If anyone is putting their self esteem chips on a sports team, you need to check your priorities. Go Vols!

People are going to feel what they feel and think what they think. Some like beer with tears and balled up baby fists. Some of us not so much.
This team has true talent unlike many bottom dwellers. Not all players “wake up” at the same time and each game it feels like our identity changes. Every game I’m hoping and watching to see who comes alive. Each game is a chance to prove something.

Yes but not really a predictor of the game, just a line to even out the gambling. Gamblers aren't necessarily the best predictors.

Vegas has done quite well over the years , in fact it's big news when they miss a line. Like USCe score 47-23 and Bama didn't cover it's almost like a loss for the Gumps.

Bammer often doesn't cover. They were only 8-7 against the spread last year. One of those games was Clemson, for instance.
