Returning punts?

All you have to do is watch that int return and see that he needs to be the return man

Maybe he needs to, but the reason he isn't is that we have good punt returners already. Usually you don't risk your best player unless you're struggling in that area.

Eric berry is a one man wrecking crew on defense. We can't risk him returning punts. I would say dave clawson is slobbering all over himself to get him on offense too. That won't happen this year either.

I'd say keep Berry on defense. Phil will probably try to keep his recruiting promise to him and let him play a little QB before he leaves here, but Berry is more valuable on defense dishing out wicked hits and breaking QB's hearts with pick-6's.

A few good punt returns in the AU or UG game could have made a difference.

Fact is Charles Woodson returned punts..it gave them them best chance and the BIG return.

Barry gives UT that best chance at the BIG one!

Even Reggie Bush and DeSean Jackson returned punts...they were not scared he would get hurt...

You put the best guy you got that can do it...You cant play with the FEAR SOMEONE MIGHT get hurt!

Isn't that like playing not to loose?

How would a punt returner have mattered against UGA? I think they punted once all day.

. . . and Gerald Jones had several good returns that set up great field position against Auburn that we never capitalized on.

Why not let him kick field goals, too?

He cant kick field goals..GOOD

Are you saying he couldn't run back punts VERY good?

Why did Charles Woodson Reggie Bush DeSean Jackson Deon Sanders return punts?

Were they not very good and needed at their MAIN position

No one said to them ...well you would be the best return man ...but you might get hurt so we are going to let this guy not as good as you do it.

get over yourself. They returned punts because it was their coaches' decision that they do so.

Ours has decided that Berry should not. Why would you be shocked to find he's wrong?

Bush is the Saints punt return man..I don't think he gets paid what he does just to return punts.

He returns punts for the Saints because he is the best they got at it...and gives them the best chance at the BIG one!

What do you have against commas?

A you a damn English teacher?

Gerald Jones does a pretty good job at returning punts. If Berry hasn't worked much at it in practice then it's understandable why they put Rogan back there last night after Jones went down.

I would love to see Berry return some punts too, but if they feel like Jones and/or Rogan do just as good of a job as Berry does then he won't get to unless of injuries or a fumbling problem.

I have no idea whether Berry could return kicks or not. I assume he could do it, but this isn't Playstation where you just plug in the fastest guy. There's actually a skill set involved.

Did anyone see what happened to G. Jones last night on a punt return?

He got hurt, do we really want that to happen to E. Berry?
