Why isn't tn a fertile recruiting ground?

They have the most coastline, along with LA. Of course Alaska and Hawaii are also at the top, but they have a disproportionately low population relative the miles of coastline.

TN will never be a fertile state until it annexes a border state with a coastline. Sorry KY, this rules you out.

To imply that demographics (code for A.A.pop) is specious at best. Where A.A. demographics play a huge role is in Georgia, Ala., La., etc. Tenn. has a 17.1% A.A. pop. Fla. has a 16.8% A A. pop. Tx. has a 12.6% A.A. pop and Calif. has a 6.4% A.A. pop. The real reason is the size of the pop in these three states. Texas is roughly 4 times larger than Tn.in pop. I heard an interview with Mike Leach when he was asked who had the best H.S. football. He said: Calif. has the best coaching; Texas has the best facilities; Fla. has the best rules. In Fla. kids can practice 365 days a year.
