If recruits don't HAVE to sign on national signing day (Oku, Charles) then why is there one? Doesn't make sense to me. Or are they special for some reason?

National Signing Day is just the first day that recruits can sign, they can wait longer to decide (a la Pryor and Brown).

It is the first day they can sign, thats why most of them do, because they have been recruited for months and years. It isn't a day that everyone has to sign. There is actually a signing period and NSD is just the first day of that period.

NSD is the start of the signing period. There are lots of players who haven't signed yet. The guys who don't get big time offers frequently have to wait and see how things pan out before they know where they are going.

Get over yourself. It's the players' lives...not yours. Let em be sure aboutwhat they wanna do w/ their futures. Thanx in advance.

It has always been the first day people can sign...and the signing period extends until April 1.

Funny, you would think the big names would hold out for the spot light instead of signing with the rest of the sheep.

NSD is the spotlight. You really think ESPN is going to devote much time to some kid a week later? How much less press did our 5* CB get yesterday than all our guys the day before?
