Why is the zone obsessed with alters?

Always present alter theories. I have seen people run off simply because they were weary of trying to "prove" their identity. Has there ever been a confirmed case of multiple identity in the zone? Has anyone banned ever come back here? When I first came to the zone it seemed very weird to me...please elaborate on past events. I understand that some of it was just hazing.

I have a personal hate for alters.
Never thought you were one though.

I just don't find them funny.

I was banned on another account long ago. Can't remember the name and so I made this one and be trolling since Nov 11' b*****s!!!

5 yrs for me.
Technically I'm an alter but always posted as myself both times and never form more than one account at a time.

I read VN for a long time before ever posting. I always read the Around the NCAA section because naturally I was interested in the opinions on UK. Then after 2 years I decided to make an account. I probably posted 5 times on that and forgot about for another year or so. So then I made an account, got banned within a day (cause i was trolling lulz) and eventually made this a few weeks later iirc.
