Last year we had a good class and we had a good year. Why is the recruiting down? Just curious what you guys think.

That seems to be the trend in college BB. You have a big year because you have schollies and PT available. We have 2 scholarships to offer and minimal immediate playing time.

I wouldn't say that our recruiting is down at all this year. We can't sign the number of players that we did last year because we don't have the scholarships available, nor the spots on the roster. We have signed Cameron Tatum, originally from Georgia who has been at a prep school in NC, and Brian Williams, a BIG man (300 pds) who most consider a project, at best. We have one more scholarship available and most think Pearl will do all he can to use that scholarship up this year. Anthony McClain, one of the best Centers in this years' class, has us in his final 4. If we don't land him, don't be surprised to see that scholarship rolled into next year. This class isn't going to have the likes of Smith, Crews and Chism like last year, but it will be valuable. Next year will be the year we have to load up on talent.

It isn't down at all. Tatum is a guy that can come in and contribute immediately, though not a 5* type player. Williams isn't exactly what we wanted at the post, but JJ Hickson snubbed us at the last minute to go to NCSU and we really didn't have many other targets. We now are focusing on McClain or a JUCO post.

I guess the class last year was so good that this one seems down. I didn't realize the skolly limits.

Thanks guys

If we get McClain, then this will be an awesome class. Don't forget Prince. McClain, Prince and Tatum pretty much fills all our needs. We will be extremely please 2 years from now with these 3 players.

Yeah this class doesn't matter all that much because we only lose Bradshaw. At the end of next year when Lofton and J. Smith graduate then we need a good recruiting class.

They all matter to a certain extent but you are correct with your assessment...

The '08 class is going to be amazing. Very likely Top 5 in the country. We are the leader or very close to it for 4 players that are all in the Top 41 overall players in the country.
