Why is Mauer in ?

Honestly, I don't agree with the QB change right there. Bailey should be capable of throwing that pass. Maurer's release definitely helps, but IMO, the main reason you use him there is to bait the defense with his ability to run..
Probably both, but your right HB should be able to but he does have a longer release....

If you looked at Bailey' face after the run he was clearing hurting. He was either take him out a play or 2 or call your last timeout

I kind of expected Cheney to be more aggressive tbh. This is a JG game plan imo.
I really didn't expect them to open it up too much with a true freshman at QB. They passed more than I thought they would.

I only expected it because of how Cheney was with Maurer last year. He was much more aggressive with Maurer as a true freshman so I guess I expected to see the same.

Did you think his coaching was going to miraculously change today? I'm actually shocked we've passed as much as we have...
I didn't think it would. I think it's a showcase for the bad coaching. We've heard so much about how the defense is bad, because the offense is bad. Our defensive genius coach is whiffing hard. He sucks at his specialty and he's a terrible head coach too.

Pruitt likes signaling to the other team that we are probably going to run 1 of 2 plays......keeps them on their toes.

I don't think he's forgot how to coach defense. I just think he's not good at handling and doing all the things a head coach has to..

That's a nice way of saying he's not a good head coach.

You don’t understand football if you can’t understand why they put BM in and you don’t understand football if you are still questioning the decision after the result of the play was the exact result we wanted in doing so
Thanks Vince Lombardi

Pruitts biggest problem is when he got named HC he convinced himself that the title alone automatically installs knowledge of the offensive side of the ball that was never there to begin with.

Ehhh, I doubt that. More likely he knew from the get go he wasn't a head coach, but when providence lays a multi million dollar gift, called the UT head football coach in your lap, do you refuse it? Hell no, It will guarantee your family's security for a lonnnnng time..

I don't blame Pruitt for taking the job even if he knewnhe couldn't do it.. I blame Tennessee for once again offering an unqualified person the job...

Not that I was crazy about Pruitt being hired, I actually wanted Mel Tucker when it was down to him and Pruitt. However, what about Pruitt’s resumè said he was unqualified?

You guys must not no chit about football. They put Maurer in to talk with Bailey without using a time out. Pay attention for crying out loud.

Idk man..... when you hire a proven staff and then micro manage them to do things your way when you have very little experience? I think he thinks he knows more than he does and he’s just a victim of his own pride

I'm sorry, but if I'm AD at the University of Tennessee, I'm NOT hiring anybody that doesn't have previous head coaching experience. That's a MINIMUM requirement....

Not saying that's the case for sure, but it's not out of the realm of possibility...

Makes sense. Nothing to be sorry for.

I knew Kiffin was never a realistic option but once we got past Schiano and Currie firing, he was best option available and was publicly lobbying for the job. Oh well
