It was a one off designed play. No different then having Grey lineup under center earlier. Where was your complaint on that? Oh and they both worked.

Don't know if there was an equipment malfunction or they wanted to check Bailey after the hard hit he took on the run before, but I don't think their intent was to take him out and keep him out. Which is why HB came right back out on the field.

Florida thought he was the running quarterback. We blocked QB counter up front and that left Grey one on one outside. If Bailey would have stayed in there would have been an OLB shaded that way.

I'm not even sure why a thread was started for this other than to bash Pruitt. It was an effective play. Maurer comes in on a short yardage play like he might run it but throws a quick screen.

Honestly, I don't agree with the QB change right there. Bailey should be capable of throwing that pass. Maurer's release definitely helps, but IMO, the main reason you use him there is to bait the defense with his ability to run..
