Why is it so gloom and doom around here lately?

Butch Jones is gone, D4H isn't posting much, New coaching staff that has the resume to make Tennessee elite, players getting drafted/making deals, the football field is look'n good, someone is bound to make a hype video with copper head road in the background ( if they haven't all ready ) and I could go on.

Sure next year is what it is, but it should be an improvement either way, some of you are so snarky and negative lately about anything or view...

We all have "Delayed Vols Stress Syndrome"!!!

Also, 4 Head Coaches and 3 AD's in 10 years may have something to do with it as well?? :dunno:

62-63 during that time if I am not mistaken!?!

This year is going to be rough. Based on the head coach himself, the lazy/quitter mentality remains. It takes longer than 1 off-season to turn around a team as bad as we were.

I’m not saying you’re right or wrong, but does it have to take that long? Butch “smoke and mirrors” Jones is gone. Pruitt isn’t gonna blow smoke up these guys butts and call them champions of life or whatever. All it takes is a moment in these young guys lives to turn it around. It’s up to them. If they want to see the field it’s obvious that they have to give 110% every play and run through the opponent with no regard, Derek Barnett style. The new early enrollees/ summer enrollees can help with that. I just want to see a team play with effort and technique this season. I’m not expecting anything miraculous year 1, but who says the culture can’t change quickly? If guys wanna quit, let em. That’ll make the TEAM better in the long run. I think we’ll see a different attitude among the team this fall. go Vols.

Even when things are going good this is a slow time of the year. Some fans seem to believe there is already cause for celebration, but I think most of us are just taking a wait-and-see attitude.

Doom and gloom? I don't think that at all. I'm in prove it mode. Pruitt may be the best coach since Neyland. He may be Dooley 2.0.

I think when you look around the SEC you see teams getting better and then there's UT.

I hope Pruitt is the man but, IMO, UT is a year or 2 behind other teams in the league.

All I want to see out of UT this year is for the opponent to know they were in a battle.

It won’t be that bad, because this staff is going to exploit and surprise some defenses this year on offense, and Georgia is just one of them. I think Pruitt is ahead of Florida and Georgia. Smart can’t beat Pruitt if our players play the way they practiced during the spring. I believe it is coming. West Virginia better watch out to, because we are coming.👌👍

Even Kirby needed a couple of years to get that team turned around. Nick Saban took over a terrible Alabama team and had a bad first year. They both had bad first years. UT is in a bit of a worse situation at the moment but Pruitt can get us there, but it's not going to be this year.

No references to Rommel or hygiene at this point so that's a plus.

Last year's 4-8 season reminds fans that 2018 and beyond may be just as painful as 2017 and that the Vols have been rebuilding for what seems to be forever:cray:
Go Vols

Battered Vol Syndrome. I joined up after watching UT lose to a bad Vandy team 7-0, so I'm disaffected, I was hooked anyway. Maybe I should work on an antidote, probably use Jaeger as a base.

That's tragic! His posts should be required reading.

4-8 or 3-9 prepare yourself and you won’t be as disappointed it’s going to be a very tough year coupled with a brutally tough schedule that does Pruitt no favors as he will be learning on the job in year one as HC.

A football program has a lot of moving parts. Virtually every aspect of UT football has been badly mismanaged for ten plus years. Success probably won't come easy or particularly soon. Check out GE and XOM, two companies with new CEO's struggling to correct the bumblings of their predecessors. Shareholders have little patience, but it's tough to turn on a dime when you're that big. If UT has the right management in place, we'll get the results we all want in the not too distant future.

I'll tell you this I am not negative at all. Pruitt has more then 14 fresh bodies coming in to include a few JUCO transfers and Grad transfers that will add depth immediately, plus he specifically recruited almost all the guys coming in the summer. Which means he doesn't need a trial period to see where they will best fit in he already knows where he wants to put them.

I am excited to see what product we come up with by fall especially after our injured players are healthy and back practicing.

I honestly think this team is being under estimated and I think Pruitt and his staff are being underestimated.

I will say this if there is one thing Pruitt will do it is start those players that he knows will get the job done. No matter who they are or what their college status is (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior). Pruitt just wants to win and I think with all the incoming personnel he has a chance to put together a really good team who will compete in the SEC.

You can only hope as a fan this is what Pruitt offers so I will wait back and hopefully watch it unfold.
