Last year was our year.....then injuries hit. With the injuries we got to see what our 2 and 3 deep looked like.

newsflash those are our starters now. Why would anything have changed in a 8 month off season? Anyone who said more than 6 wins this year should be banned from being a college football fan.

Lack of development showed up last year, in year 4. It has continued into year 5 full steam ahead!

Be nice to get to a bowl at this point just for the extra practice. Get the new coach in place asap to hold together recruiting and unite the team for 2018 and beyond.

Go Vols!

Not shocked or pissed here. Weak attempt at a blanket statement in my opinion by the OP. Newsflash, most have seen for a while now that we have/had depth issues behind the ones. I think most are surprised and pissed because CBJ is still gainfully employed by UTK.

I think what this year really shows us is what a house of cards the previous two years have been. Butch constantly hyped the last couple of years as being something special at 9 wins, but we as fans were griping about the "quality" wins the whole time. Let's face it...if we beat the teams we're SUPPOSED to beat and don't turn the ball over 7 TIMES in the A&M game we're 11-1 last year. I believe this year is truly showing us what type of coach CBJ is. Not one that is cut out to be the head guy at UT.

I haven't been S&P'd since sometime last year. It's been pretty much numbness for quite a while now.

We hoped Butch we be more than a place holder...he wasn't. That said, he wasn't a dumpster fire either. Got us out of water w/NCAA. Got in some solid classes. Something to be said for that. That something being $15 mil.

Because I am a sore loser. It's bad enough that even though I don't play for the team it is discouraging.

Because Tennessee football, when winning, is an incredible boost to the local economy.

Because those same players have not reached their potential with significant playing time.

Because losing the way Tennessee loses is the most disheartening way to lose.

Honestly. I am not even mad at this point. Just ready for the change.

Because we wanted to believe so badly we bought into the hype machine that is Botch

because we assumed he would know how to develop players and get better each week, not worse

Because there is no way in hell we should be putting an offensive game plan into place that can only accomplish field goals

Because in his 5th year, the upperclassmen should have been thru at least 4 years of S&C

Because if you don't have a true DT Qb, you would assume the scheme would be modified to help the player instead of expecting him to run a read option

I can keep going if you really want, but those are the high points (or low points if you are a VFL)

After all the injuries last yr, you'd think the depth would be better this year but it isn't. Guys who played a lot last year got no better during the off season. Some of that is coaching, some of it is on them. Team isn't stronger, and the "quit" is very easy to get brought out in these guys.

Once something bad happens or an opponent makes a big 3rd down, Vols spread their legs like a Bourbon Street whore and let them move down the field. South Carolina proved that Sat with a drive over 100yds in total. Frankly sc played it very conservative once they got the lead thus the only reason the defense stopped them on their last series to a fg.

Still should of beat a Florida team who had pretty bad serious off the field issues mixed in with a hurricane that week and one of their worst offense in recent Florida history.

South Carolina was just pathetic, to have them run the ball over and over on us. I get it we have injuries, but they had even more along with have people drop during the game.

For me the reason to get rid of him now is the lack of improvement. When you have some of most talented WR's come in and not develop the way they should, along with not being able to develop two QB's that have sat and learned. We might be without a great QB for 2 or 3 years.

Since the UF game I haven't been pissed at all. I was sold on the fact that BJ had peaked out and simply couldn't do what many expect him to do. Confused about the outlandish buyout, wondering who we can get, hopeful the admins get a good coach this time. Not pissed. Its time to turn that page...

Yeah it's a soft team that lacks fundamentals and a lot of them were probably frankly overrated. Now that being said there is enough talent that it's not the case with all of them. It's coaching mostly. There are teams out there with far less talent that look pretty good. You have to have both. We have better players than what is coaching them. That scheme, not identifying your best players or just not playing them for whatever reason. The in game coaching is a travesty as well. It's just a mess top to bottom, Butch Jones's mess.

Actually, I would argue 2015 was our year. Schedule and talent was way ahead of schedule. 2016 should have simply been another year to repeat double digit win regular season.
