Why are we blaming the offensive coordinators?

We scored 28 against the best defense in the league.

The defense lost it for us because we had plenty of chances to shut them down at 4th and a mile.

2 trick plays and nothing but running plays does not an offense make in this day in age. Take away the two trick plays and where do we stand?

The offense is incredibly one-dimensional. Best WR group in the conference play at Tennessee, where they get no touches.

Everyone runs trick plays from time to time. We scored 27 points. That should have been enough to beat this Florida team. We lost because we can't defend 4th and long.

Uh because if the offense was multi dimensional this wouldn't have been close?

That's what happen when you have a GA developing your QBs, an O-line coach who has been here for 3 years and has yet to develop decent tackles, and a WR coach who got a promotion but can't teach WR how to get off of press coverage(I don't know why everyone was so worried about loosing coach z).

If they do decide to replace Choke Jones the next coach only need to keep Coach Stip, Coach G, and Thig. The only coaches who worth anything.

Does it really matter if they get "off press coverage" if everyone knows the ball is not gonna be thrown to them? Come on get real!

There is no one person or unit at fault here. The defense gave up 5 4th down conversion. 100% were converted. The offense made mental errors at the end of the game. The coaches called too conservatively in the 4th, esp the next to last drive (3rd and 6 qb run). We missed a fg that had the distance. We missed tackles in the open field.

We lost as a team. There were just too many mistakes to put the blame on any one person or unit. I wanted to blame the coaches last night, but there are too many issues to count.

no, the offense wasn't the issue. and the defense didn't help.

the game management (the two time outs on 4th down, giving FL the opp to re think their punt and FG), and the last 4 minutes being completely mismanaged are the reasons we lost.

no one can close a game in this program, and the saddest part is they did everything they were basically supposed to for 56 minutes. i dind't think we had that 3rd qtr/4th qtr drive in us...to put another TD on the board with 10 min to go...i thought was HUGE.

didn't understand not going for two.

anyway. if you show up wearing blue jerseys and orange helmets, things just work out for you. if you're in orange and white....bury your head til it's over. cause apparently it ain't changing any time soon.

It's a combination of things.
A defense that can't make the big plays when they have to.
A staff that can't figure out how to build a passing game.
Probably the worst pass protection oline in the conference.
and a Jekyl and Hyde Head coach.

Don't Blame offense are you serious? Our receivers not catching a pass is unheard of. The most vanilla play calling ever. It's not that hard to figure out what we are gonna run

I hear ya brother!
Dobbs 10/17 for 83 yards as an OC how do you expect that to be acceptable?
One dimensional offenses get beat! Especially when you have a terrible defensive secondary with no pass rush

Didn't understand not going for two.

I'm not screaming to fire the coaches, however when CBJ says that they have a chart for going for 1 or 2 they didn't follow it. It doesn't matter if you lose by 1 or 2. The chart that all coaches use, says go for 2 when you are up by 12.

Below is a link to a version of the two point conversion chart first developed by Dick Vermeil in the early 1970s when he was offensive coordinator under Tommy Prothro at UCLA. The chart is still used by coaches in helping them to determine whether to go for a two point or one point conversion after a touchdown in various situations.

Butches Coaching for Dummies book Didn't tell him to do the plays he needed to win. If you have to look a damn card to tell you what to do maybe he needs to rethink Coaching Fooosss ball. And if they ever go prevent defense again I am going to blow his book up.

But not everyone has to survive by using trick plays, especially against a very mediocre Florida team. If we had to throw everything we have out there , including the kitchen sink just to beat Florida, what does that tell you about our offense?

1) I don't know who the best defense in the SEC is but it's certainly not Florida. At the end of the year, I would expect them to be near the bottom in rushing yards allowed.

2) Our defense in the 4th quarter under Jones has indeed been atrocious.

UF ran an unsuccessful trick offensive play. It is our inability to get to the passer this year allowing multiple 4th down conversions as a defense is one primary reason we have lost two games this season.

I've thought about this, too. The offense is missing a passing threat. That's it. We are scoring enough to win these games.
I think the issue is, many of us enjoyed UT in the 80s and 90s. The great thing about those eras was our rushing game. We get a lead and run the ball and eat clock. And there's nothing the opponent could do to stop it. It was very gratifying to see.
This offensive line cannot do what we are all accustomed to when the game is ready to be put away. JMO.
