Why I will pull for Vandy (SOME) next season.

Wishing a hated rival does well so they don't come steal our new coach who hasn't coached a game for us yet is the very definition of asinine. But thanks for the condescension with your "fade, fade, fade" intro

Ya kinda lost credibility with considering them a "hated rival". Its not like they are a real program like Bama or Gators. And they are hardly worthy of our hate, more like the pity you feel for the guy sleeping on the street. Sure you are a bit pissed because you tripped over him when you briefly got lost on your way back to contender street and the bum laughed at you for falling - but lets not act like Vandy (sans Shoop/Franklin) is anything other than training field time for up and coming 3rd stringers.

IMHO, there's very little chance that Shoop would ever go to Vandie. If he does well at Tennessee, he'll have much, much better opportunities than that hellhole where coached go to die. He may love Nashville, but if he kills it this year as our DC and a school like Texas or LSU comes calling, I'm guessing he'll very quickly love Austin and Baton Rouge.

Also, I hope Vandie goes 0-12 this year...if they do, they'll be scraping the bottom of the FCS barrel for an up and comer assistant coach from Northern Illinois or somewhere.

SIAP, but it's my understanding that his family is still in Nashville. That they never went with him to PSU, they like Nashville and didn't want to make his kids move schools, etc., and want to stay settled in middle TN. Thus him "paying his own buyout" at PSU, he wanted to get back to Tennessee and be closer to his family. I was expressing the same sentiment of this thread with some friends just last week. I hope Mason does just well enough to keep him here as long as possible.

From what I can tell listening to Vandy AD Williams, he is big on minorities as head coaches. He made a big deal about it when The Rooney rule was implemented in the NFL and has pushed for it at the NCAA level. His last 2 hires were minorities and I believe that's his way of doing business. Not saying he wouldn't go after Shoop or that he is racist. I've just personally heard him talking about this subject, and his track record seems to fit this profile. Am I the only one that feels this way?

I hope that Vandie somehow, some miraculous way makes a bowl game after going 0-12 so they can lose another game to go 0-13.

In that case, I hope we remain stagnant as a program and never get to 10 wins.......I would hate for some other program to come scoop up Butch as their HC. So asinine.

Butch taking another HC job is a lateral move at best and he would be insane to leave what he built here to go somewhere else.

Going from a DC to a HC anywhere is not a lateral move.

So asinine.
