please send a link to the video of Heath Shuler kicking Shelton Quarles in the nads

I've spent all morning at work trying to find a clip of it... No luck so far. I have it at home on VHS.... I'll see if I can figure out how to post it. Anybody have any ideas? Trust me... It's worth seeing!!

It's hard to hate Vandy- feel sorry for them, yes, but hate them? Nah....

I pull for Vandy every week but one. You have to realize that UT to Vandy fans is like Bama to Auburn fans. Vandy hasn't beaten Tennessee enough to foster any hate. I like vandy----except this week.

I didn't even hate Vandy when they beat us in 05. I hated CPF for that.

you can get it converted to DVD then rip it off of the DVD and post it...

In order to convert to DVD, you just need a DVD recorder and a VCR and hook the two together.

To rip the DVD, you just need a DVD burner.

And all the Vandy players go to Peabody, why don't they just call it Peabody instead of Vanderbilt?

Peabody is the name of the College of Education within Vanderbilt University, along with Blair School of Music, the College of Engineering, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the graduate schools.

There are some popular majors for athletes within Peabody, but all Vandy players are not Peabody students (when I was a student, Peabody was about 75% female.) As of the latest USNWR rankings, Peabody is also the #1 ranked education college in the nation.

My favorite was the 1994 game. We came in 6-4 and Vandy was 5-5. Vandy was talking bowl game and UT was having a "down year". And UT proceeds to win 64-0. The best part was leaving the game and the time it took for us to leave the stadium and get to our car, UT scored 2 more times.

My hate for Vandy is more based in basketball than football. The problem with Vandy fans is when they even sniff success, like last year or 2005, they come out of the woodworks and trash talk like they've actually accomplished something. And Memorial Gym is one of the worst places for visiting teams that I've ever seen. It's lost it's magic some but it used to be absolutely horrible for home cooking. I've seen some of the worst officiated games ever in that place, and the fans are some of the dumbest I've ever seen.

So I will always hate Vandy.

A few years ago, I got on the computer and worked up a "book" entitled Great Moments in Vanderbilt Football History - Complete and Illustrated I had it all dressed up and it looked something like a real book. Inside I had about 100 blank sheets of paper. My brother-in-law who hates Vandy as much as I, thought it was hilarious and took it to work and had the Vandy fans look at it. They thought that it was something special until they opened it up.....We had a lot of great laughs with it.....

This is always a tough week for me. I'm orange through and through, but I can't help but feel a twinge of pain each time my alma mater is unfairly disparaged.

The football program is lousy, it's true.

Most of the rest of the athletic department is competitive.

It is a good academic institution.

Every student and alumnus is not a prick.

The female student body is not populated by goblins.

Is it too much to ask to get a little credit for that?

Yadda, yadda, yadda. Freaking Army beat Vandy. Hell, we won and we're part of the punchline.

It does get tiresome hearing comments about how superior Vandy's academics are when discussing football. But I don't hate Vandy. That's a guaranteed win every year. It's sort of a tune-up for the bowl season. It is anything but a rivalry. How can it be considered a rivalry when one of the teams never has a chance of winning the game? Yes, they may be smart, but they can't keep up with UT on the football field.

Have you missed the latter half of this decade?

If it makes you feel any better, the joke wasn't very funny.

EDIT: It didn't get any funnier any of the 37 times it has been posted.

I hate Vandy because they suck so bad the only way they can find football joy is relishing in a UT loss. I also live in Nashville and have to listen to their 5 fans spout their rubbish about academics. I made the attachment for a Vandy fan that works in my office.....and yes....he is a pantywaist

Vandy fans are and always have been sanctimonious turds who are beneath contempt. As much as I hate Bama I hate Vandy even more and relish each and every victory over them. The greater the point differential the better. One of my favorite Neyland moments was the last game on the artificial turf where we rang up 60+ on 'em and Heath Shuler kicked Shelton Quarles in the balls.

Agreed.

Last year I was on my honeymoon. My wife and I were on our way back from the Bahamas. It was September 20th, the day that Tennessee played Florida.

I knew that we didn't have a huge chance, but I love to watch the games and not know. So knowing that we wouldn't make it back in time for the game I TiVo'd it.

While walking through the airport I was looking down covering my eyes and my wife lead me through the airport. After getting on the plane a woman asked, "What on earth were you two doing?"

I said, "Well, I am a Tennessee fan and I didn't want to see the score of the game."

Her response has made me hate Vanderbilt fans every since. "oh they got killed. The score was 30-6. I am a Vanderbilt fan and I like to see a Tennessee fan squirm whenever I can."

It might be petty but
Vanderbilt...I never want you to win again

Thought I would bump this thread

No offense, but I'm sure you looked like a douche bag walking through the airport. Had I witnessed that and found out you were a rival fan I would've told you the score as well.

Is it really that big of a deal that you don't see the score to where you have to have your wife cover your eyes and lead you through the airport?

We had Crompton playing QB...and Foster at RB...Not the same Foster that's in the NFL.

1. Just because you say no offense doesn't mean you get to say whatever you want
2.doing something just to irritate someone or make them mad makes you a douche
3.I'm sorry I enjoy watching Tennessee play and not know the outcome. You realize there are only 13 football games a year?
4.I hope your post total stops at 600
5.Welcome to my ignore list
6.No offense, but you're an idiot

I hate 'em because any time there's a chance of them beating the Vols it's like a Dr. Suess book or something.....you have all these weird puzzies and other strange things come out of nowhere talking all kinds of nonsensical BS and then the game is played and they instantly disappear for twenty more years......it's almost like being on LSU;)......and I don't like them either

you may not find this shocking but I would have dropped an F bomb on her for that....but on the bright side she probably did save you about two hours of your life because I know you FF thru a lot more than you would have otherwise.....but she still deserved the fu......or you could have asked her if she eats at the Y.....

I do not hate Vandy more than any other team, but I have family that are big Vandy fans. We cannot lose to them again for another 25 years.

if it's by marriage then it's ok to burn their damn house down....if they're direct blood not so much
