Why I Hate UF

To be fair, I have seen Tennessee fans act like huge arrogant jerks towards Kentucky fans, Vanderbilt fans, Memphis fans, Alabama fans, and many more.

Does that include spitting on them, fighting them unprovoked, damaging their cars, etc? I've never heard stories of UT fans throwing cups of urine on anyone, but the same can't be said for UF fans.

I have seen all of that happen, well minus the urine part.

Hey Rex, be careful about throwing those stones from the driveway of your glass house.

I'll point out that the day Hornsby was arrested, Meyer booted him off the team. What else is he supposed to do?

I can throw stones all day long on a Tennessee board. LG, sometimes I think you forget that fact. :)

In the sense that Florida has enjoyed a period of relative prosperity from about 1994-2008, you are correct that a larger proportion of Florida fans are spoiled than UT or UGA fans. But this goes back to my observation that a lot of what will factor into how you are treated at a Florida game depends on whether you are encountering students or alumni. My advice, if you go, is to avoid the bars on University and instead tailgate. That's where the alumni are and that's where the good fans will be located.

This is the whole point LG, and I am glad you can admit it (major props, earned a lot of respect). When I go to every other SEC school I can go to their bar scene, but for some reason not Florida. I will agree that the tailgating with the UF alumni is probably a safer bet. Why can't I do both? I can everywhere else.

you cant do both because UF is the epicenter of all that is wife-beaters and mullets

I'm not one to speak on SEC tailgating scenes as I have not been yet but it seems to me that the general consensus is, mind your manners and be respectful and all is good. I can tell you that at aTm tailgating everyone is family oriented with very little to no rival issues. I'm sure there are idiots, but in my career as an avid tail gate officianado, I have not experienced the problems yall speak of. I hope that I have the same experience when I come to Neyland in a couple of years. I picked the Bama game though so.....we'll see.

I don't like them because they wear the wrong color orange.

Really though, I have only been to one other opposing stadium (2 if you count Vandy), the other being Tuscaloser, and it wasn't too bad, gave us plenty to laugh at, on the other hand...

I have seen my share of rude, obnoxious, drunk UT fans at Neyland. Ive had times with my son that I should covered his ears, had one time that a nice drunk fan beside us vomited, that was a nice way to try to enjoy a football game, but the worst of all is several years ago I took my best friend, who also happens to be my pastor and a Bama fan to his first UT-Bama game at Neyland, which we won, and as leaving the stadium was cursed at, had a coke tossed on him, and one guy kept pulling at his shirt and we nearly ended up in a fight, it was very embarrassing. So...from my experience, we have our fair share of idiots, as Im sure everyone does.

I am a recent grad from UT and went to almost every road game while in school...I never received anything to extreme on anytrip (nothing worse than I see/give out at Neyland). The only reason Florida bothered me is the type of people that go there (mostly transplanted yankees)...I will say that the atmosphere in the Swamp is fantastic...the crowd is just much much more unified, not just the student section getting rowdy...wish we had more fans that would drink a little more TN whiskey and get into the games at Neyland instead of sitting on their hands.

Completely agree with this. Our crowds only get into the games for the very first series, and if it is close at the end of games.

having been to many different stadiums, at varying game times, I can honestly say UF fans are in a class of their own (and it's not the honors class). I even gave Gainesville a 2nd chance and it was worse than the first

I had the same experience. Second time trumped the first in terms of a terrible time. Had nothing to do with the game and everything to do with Gator fans.

The guy on the right seems to be straining a lot.

The guy on the left looks like a young Peter North.
