Why Herman was fired at Texas

All signs pointing at Kiffin or Chadwell
Bleeder, I too would go for Kiffin. BUT.... if Kiffin is going along with talks of coming here after 1 year at Ole Piss, how do we know he won't bolt on us AGAIN and leave us at the altar ?. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, well you know.

Your #s posted indicate Bama and Texas fairly even until the last 13 years coinciding with Saban’s hire and fantastic run at Bama vs Texas kinda doing a mini Vol act with Mack Brown looking stale (like Fulmer), and 2 or 3 HCs not working out. The main diff between Bama and Texas is that Saban said ‘yes’ to Bama and ‘no thanks’ to Texas.

But, my point is similar to yours, I think. Texas believes they’re set up as well as anyone including Bama in football, and also other sports, to be the best or at least one of the best.

Texas should have many more championships. They are the most underachieving program not named Georgia because of how loaded that state is with high school talent.

Herman for sure deserves to be on the list, he had alot of folks to please there and he was winning. Just not fast enough I guess, I was kind of shocked they fired him this year to tell the truth. But then again Texas does some strange things sometimes. Not many get fired when they win 8 games and he seemed to have them going a little better than previous coaches. Worthy of a interview for sure. GBO!
No.

Brisket>>>>>>>>pulled pork

I thought we had a breakthrough. We actually agreed on a few things but then you drop this on me. Breaking my (artery clogged) heart.

More of a rib guy than pulled pork. I like brisket but give me a slab of Memphis style ribs over brisket any day.

I don't think Herman is What we need at UT. I have been in Austin 26 years. He has been criticized heavily over forcing a Rotation rather rather then going with the best. His recruiting within Texas did not live up to expectations. Texas overachieved in his first year and he couldn't recover from that. He did not relate well with players and in some cases disrespected them.

Coaching in Texas is it's own animal. Those people have DEEP pockets and there are a bunch of them and they will pay big bucks until they find someone that beats Okla.

He signed #3, #3 and #8 ranked classes in his only 3 full recruiting seasons there. 8 5 star players after Strong only managed to sign one in his entire time there. How much better did recruiting need to be?

Hey I love me some pork ribs. But there is just something about that slow smoked brisket flavor.

We got Barnes after Texas fired him and I think Herman would do well here.

He was criticized for not winning Texas and not getting the cream of Texas. He did much better than Strong and went outside of Texas more than many previous Texas coaches. But that wasn't the biggest issue. He was criticized for not having the best players on the field, for the way he treated the players, and disappointing results.

In my very biased Aggie opinion, Tom Herman would be a disaster. Given their recruits and their conference, Texas should be a ten win team every year. Also, head coaches need to act like a head coach, and there were times I thought Herman was acting rather childish. Granted, Austin is a land unto itself, where egos and narcissists are extreme, so maybe he never got thru to his team. I wish Sark good luck, he's going to need it.

Muffin just signed an extension 2 weeks all and details of his buyout has not been released but it has been described as "healthy".

Then, it will be Chadwell. If Kiffin is showing interest somehow, it is just typical Kiffin messing with Vols fans heads. He has done it before. He loves attention.
Knoxville Tennessee is alot better spot than ole Miss and has better facilities and he has to beat Florida and Georgia. At ole Miss he has Bama , Auburn , LSU , Texas A&M.

He wishes he didn't leave
Nicer place
Easier to get to SEC Championship game and National
The high school players in state are getting better.

It's a easy decision
Just he will have to do a one and done again
But he has already signed them players.

Hell, No. That snarky rat @#%&* ain't getting another shot. I would prefer he stay at Ole Miss, and we swap the yearly rivalry against Bama to Ole Miss so our new coach can whip his disloyal ass every year. Kuck Fiffin.

THIS is why Herman should not be on the list. It is the reason he got fired. Not because of his W-L. Not because of his recruiting. It was because the players were revolting against him, which would have ended up destroying the program. Texas has eight 4* players in the transfer portal, and 3 of them have already committed elsewhere.
