We’ve came out flat? It seem we didn’t get “juice” as Pruitt calls it till Banks. Pruitt did mention the support guys getting the guys lathered up during the delay. Pruitt seems to be learning the team needs some juice before the game

We are just not really good right now. We will be. But it isn’t going to happen overnight. We have to take satisfaction in the little steps of progress, kind of like what we witnessed from the team when they returned from the weather delay.

Pruitt probably has these guys tense. I thought they was going to come out fired up last week.

Went to the Vol Walk yesrerday for the first time in several years and commented to my son that they seemed very tense as they got off the bus. Like they didnt want to be there.

Maybe that's the norm but the last time we walked over to participate they players seemed fairly loose and ready to play.

Might mean nothing but that was my take.

Game 1 - the first game for our new team under a new coach & new system against one of the best offenses in the country
Game 2 - our starting center hurt his knee and is out for the year, once again having to gain chemistry on the field

Thats why. Pretty easy answer when you think about things.

Think it's how he's expecting them to act. Needs to loosen them up a little

Because we aren’t very good and seem to be playing “flat” the entire game

I thought the team looked better early in the WVU game, other than the first play of course. I noticed more ass chewing yesterday and less " coaching" on the sidelines. Good, they needed an ass chewing yesterday.

Some of it is hesitancy and confusion...especially on the OL. I expect that portion to get better as the players get more game time and familiarity in the play book.

Probably, but after thinking about it I can see how that would be part of the process when I comes to changing culture. There’s a higher standard now. Players know it and coaches don’t shy away from it. The players are scared a little bit but they’ll get used to it then simply focus on execution. I’m sure there were tight booty holes in Saban’s first year at Bama as well. Probably the same for Muschamp and Smart since they’re all from the same cloth
