Why Eric Berry Will Return

When I think of players that should not have returned for their senior year, Jonathan Heffney always comes to mind.

I agree, but I think Arian Foster got screwed worse than anyone by coming back for his Senior year. I feel bad for the guy; that decision cost him $10+ million.

He should go. i want him back as bad as anyone, but it just isn't worth the risk. Maybe him leaving lands us Elam and a future stud at SS. That would be best case scenario.

The best case scenario, for UT, would be if EB stayed AND we land Elam and a "future stud at SS."

I really want someone to whisper in his ear: Peyton came back for his senior year, and look where he's at. :salute:

If the Colts, by some stroke of luck, were able to draft Eric Berry...oh my...let's just say I'd be having a lot of alone time...

Eric Berry will make his decision based on where his heart is leading him. He is a wonderful young man and absolutely loves everything about UT. His teammates, the coaches, the fans--and he's made no secrets about how excited he is about everything going on and how bright the future looks in Knoxville. If his heart brings him back to campus for his senior season, then he should be celebrated. If he takes the next step to the NFL then he should be celebrated as well. Either way, Eric will go down as one of the greatest players--and people--to don the Orange and White. He will forever be a Vol and no matter what his decision is, we should only be happy for him and his family. The young man has earned it. I for one, will be ecstatic if he decides to return for his senior year, but if he goes then I wish him nothing but the best. Whoever drafts him is getting an elite athlete as well as a wonderful person of excellent character. He is Volunteer through and through...we as fans have been blessed with the opportunity to see him grow as a player and person these past 3 years. GO VOLS!!!!!

That is what I'm thinking will make him return. This guy is the definition of a Volunteer. I am only 15, and I'm glad I got to grow up and to be able to watch such an amazing guy play football. He is well respected on and off the field. He is a role model for the freshman coming in and even for kids my age. I just want him to do what he wants to do. Whatever his decision is, I fully support it. Thank you Eric Berry for all the shouting and screaming moments you have given us when you have made a big play. I will never forget those moments. Good luck out there Saturday night and I wish the rest of the team the best of luck.

Guess, he didnt run thru the T......and didnt run during the "Last Tackle. So, I can see where some might think he is leaning on coming back.

But he is a 100 percent certain Lottery Pick.

What can you do.

Eric will enter the NFL draft. He is having his whole family plus grandmother at the UK game tonight. Kind of a going out party.

I know we want him back next year, but I think only the UT fans 'believe' he will be back. Take the money you will always be welcomed back at UT.

I would like for him to stay, but I think he will take money. He can always get his degree later.

most likely he will leave, money is an issiue.

he dont care about all the extra money.

as long as he takes care of is family he's fine.

along as he get enough to give to them to live , hes fine.
all the other money is extra, i mean 500,000 can complete there needs.

if his parents are number 1 in his head, and there telling him to stay in college, most likely he will, that if his mind is true

but, if his parents are saying different, then he will do what he got to do to give them a good life. cause apperantly they raised him well.

he has a great future, he dont need to grow up so fast.

but as he said " my parents are first, not me!! "

lets just see

Well...if he goes pro early...there's a good chance we'll end up with his little bros for four years.

when do players announce? is there a set date or is it just whenever they decide to let the anticipating fans know?

I believe underclassman have until Jan. 15th to declare for the 2010 draft. I'm guessing Berry won't wait until then to announce his intentions. He will be missed....
Though I wouldn't have thought Manning, Allen, or Foster would have come back either.....

As much as I'd love to see him come back, he'd be crazy to stay. You go to college so you can get a good job and take care of your family, mission accomplished Eric. Take the $$$ to the bank.

Kiffin is the type of guy that will lead you to think that, just so if he does stay it will bring some hype back to the program
