I'm not one of those people who thinks they know more than the coaches, but I was just wondering why we don't blitz more often. While the defense seems to be fairly solid, especially with quite a few young guys in there, we seem to be incapable of getting any pressure on the QB let alone force any turnovers. Maybe this is a dumb question, but don't you think sending 6, 7, maybe even 8 guys every now and then would maybe help create some turnovers? And I don't just mean on 3rd down either which seems to be the only time we do blitz. I've been fairly impressed with the job Wilcox has done with what he has to work with, but IMO if we are even going to dream of competing the next 3 weeks, we are going to have to do something game-changing on defense. Hope he has something up his sleeve. GBO, VFL!!!

maybe b/c our young defensive backfield already has issues with getting burned in man-to-man coverage

I believe it happened twice when we had safeties up for the run in this last game.

I may be wrong...but I figure the blitz better get there b/c the margin for error is pretty small with our coverages

We blitzed more against Georgia than we have in all our other games combined probably, we just didn't get there. Our defenders just ran right into blocks instead of going around blocks. The few plays we did get pressure we left the check down guy (te,rb,etc) be wide open so the pressure didn't matter.

Without Jackson staying back to ball hawk. Our secondary on islands is a dangerous place to be.

Maybe I just didn't notice how much we did b/c we rarely got any pressure. But I completely agree that it seems like when we do send a guy or two, they have a knack for running straight into the O Line. I think this may need to be addressed b/c its happened all season. We're not giving up a ton of points but our D could improve by forcing a few more turnovers. Idk how they plan on doing that, but I hope they figure it out soon.
