Nobody wants gruden more than I do, but I really don't think he is coming to UT. But 1 thing for sure, if the next coach dosent work out this time around we can all say that again that gruden is gonna be our next coach.

Let's be honest on two points.

First, for a guy who admits he hates recruiting, the UF job is a much better fit for Kelly. Far, far easier to recruit to UF than UT given the instate/local talent. Our instate recruiting has improved greatly and appears to be getting better, but the UT coach needs to be passionate about recruiting if we are to once again run with the big boys in this conference.

Second, it would be a complete shock for Gruden to be a coach here. It just isn't happening....at least in my mind. I'm not certain he's a good fit for the college game especially in a unique situation like ours. We likely would be much better off with a Mullen, Mahlzan, or Fuente than Gruden. Chuckie would win the press conference and we'd be the talk of college football initially, but I'm not sure how we'd do on Saturdays and that's where the rubber meets the road.

Sorry, but I think UT fans are delusional and understandably desperate, but this Gruden nonsense is a fantasy.....ain't happenin'.

First honest thoughts re: the coaching search I've seen. I just hope we don't end up hiring Hoke full time.

Not to mention, I'm sure coach Spurrier has much more insight on the hire than any of us! I do understand things can change, though.

Certainly so, but let me try to explain what you posted. Spurrier made the comments last week that the next UF coach is likely still coaching his team and we would know who it is in 3-4 weeks.

Last week, at the time these comments were made, we weren’t hearing any rumors about Kelly and most everyone was still thinking Scott Frost.

That seemed to change yesterday with all the stuff coming out about Kelly. It may mean that Frost has said no, or it may mean that UF has had a change of heart. Or it may mean not a dang thing. 😂

Was just pointing out that the Spurrier comments were from last week.
