Why does A.J always wear long sleeves?

"Tennessee linebacker A.J. Johnson leads the SEC with 86 tackles "

"The senior linebacker finished with 10 stops, bringing his career total to 420. Only Andy Spiva, a UT linebacker from 1973-76, has more career tackles than Johnson …"

He seems to be doing ok despite said lateral issues.
With these numbers, I don't care if he wears ruffles.

I'd love to know how many more tackles he would have if he could just hit those gap assignments correctly.

:thud:

Despite the tackle numbers it's a real issue. We're getting gashed at times while AJ is jumping around.

He could wear the Seinfeld puffy shirt for all I care. He more than likely does it to keep his elbows from getting the big scrapes. I had a team mate that always had about a two inch scab on his elbow. Every game it would tear off early. We would start noticing we had blood on a lot of us in the huddle. We would say blood check, who's bleeding. It almost always was him. Back in those days people didn't give a crap about blood. I once played with a gushing bloody nose for about three possessions. The refs never sent me out.

Leading tackler in the SEC. Must not be too limited.

Or OCs are just daft and keep running plays straight at him.

AJ does tend to get out of position and he seems to get caught inside more than he should. Then again, he doesn't exactly have a dominant D-line in front of him to keep bodies off him and he makes up for a lot of it with his pure energy.

The numbers are definitely impressive, but I'm not sure he's somebody that an OC really worries about.

Can anyone explain why the checkerboards on the arms are always on the inside next to the chest? Why aren't they ever on the outside?

I think it's cool to hear the reasoning behind player superstitions when i played baseball I always wore a batting glove under my glove my grandpa bought me and that thing had holes and all kinds of holes in it it was so old but I played every game with from freshman year of high school to college.. I asked because I like hearing players reasoning behind the things they do
