I love the 7 maxims, and a glass of corn whiskey, and, of course, my friend Smokey ...

I just jumped on the bandwagon recently (an odd time to do so, I know). I have always loved SEC football but wanted a true school to follow and root on in the conference. Truthfully, I cheered on the Vols when I saw them on TV as a kid, but never followed them that closely. The more I learned about the traditions and university the more I was drawn in. Look forward to making my second ever Tennessee game this fall (against LSU in Baton Rouge)... and the first in person actually rooting for the Vols ('05 Cotton Bowl was yelling for Texas A&M).

It was me standing with my shirt off with my best buddies during a monsoon while Heath Shuler threw a 45-3 beat down on the Gators. Or Perhaps, its great friends and food on the top of G-10 with me throwing a beatdown in cornhole. Maybe its the kidrock song before games. It could be Good OLE ROCKY TOP!. Running through that "T" can definately give you chills. Maybe VOLWALK, a tradition in its own that even other universities mimic. Could be the beautiful see of Orange in the stands?(Do you ever get those people that wear the Gray shirts with Tennessee on them? Dude, wear orange or in your case, where white.) Or you know, maybe it the undying commitment to the team I've always known or pulled for. I am saying it now and I will always stay true. Integrity isn't about winning! Its about LOYALTY......when your a VOL.......you have integrity. If you don't get off our ship. (This is for all the negative posters!) Get off my ship......Your not a VOL if your posting negatively! Oh! and don't sugar coat your answers of to why its OK to voice your opinion. This is VOLNATION baby! You will never win. That being said........GO VOLS!!!!!!!!:peace2:

Grew up a VOL fan.
Dad graduated from there.
Nothing like the passion I get from watching a game.
I hate Florida and Alabama.

Go VOLS!

Because I hate the color crimson and have rebelled against my bama parents since birth.

I am a graduate of the Great University of Tennessee.
One of the greatest traditions in college football.
I will always be loyal to the University that has given me so much.

Because I was born there and though I moved away at an early age I do bleed orange. I hate alabama. There is no other stadium that can get your blood pumping like Neyland. I have left many parties abruptly because I could not get a tv on the game when you know the Vols are on. I also hate Steve Spurrier.

born and raised in elizabethton in east tennessee.joined army in 1973 right out of high school. this is when i first became die-hard vols fan.was proud of how we are called volunteers because of large number of men from this area willing to fight for freedom.through the military have been stationed in many hostile locations, alabama and georgia, but allways showed my orange pride.am retired in san diego now and i stick out like a sore thumb.southern hospitality is not common here but doing my best to rub off rude people.glad crompton made the NFL and is here in san diego.

Bama parents? I would have thought you wouldn't have had a chance! How did you do it?

Although I was born in Chattanooga, TN, through certain circumstances I ended up growing up in Puerto Rico, where I had practically no connections back to my native country. But every once in a while, we would get this Tennessee college football team playing on our TV, (first in black and white and later) in orange and white. Because I was from TN (and was constantly reminded by puertoricans that I was an outsider), I always watched them play (whenever my step-father was also interested in the game, he was the last word on what we watched on TV).

After high school, I moved back to Chattanooga, where my love for UT football and for the state of TN really grew. I passed that love on to my son by taking him to the game against Vandy, in '93 I think it was. Now we are passing the passion along to my grand children.

Tennessee is;

The Tennessee River and the Smokey Mountains. Neyland Stadium and THE General. George Cafego, Beattie Feathers, Doug Atkins, Reggie White, Peyton Manning, Dale Jones, Andy Spiva and the McKenzie Brothers. Mike "Go" Cofer and Mike "Stop" Cofer. John Ward and Lindsey Nelson. Sam Houston, Daniel Boone, Davey Crocket and Andrew Jackson. The Army of Tennessee and the Vol Navy. It's the Hill and running through the "T". The Tennessee Waltz and Rocky Top.

It's the Pride of the Southland, Pat Summit, Ray Mears and Bernie and Ernie. Big John Tate, Tommy "The Hitman" Hearns and Wilma Rudolph.

Tennessee is Knoxville, Nashville and even Memphis. Dolly, Roy Acuff, Samuel L. Jackson, Quenton Tarantino, B.B. King, the Grand Ole Opry and Elvis.

It's Knoxville turning Orange every fall and the anticipation of something great. Johnny Majors, Phil Fulmer, Bobby Denton and Smokey.

Tennessee is community, where loyalty and honor is respected.

Tennessee is home.

Tennessee is my home, my source of pride. Being a Vol fan is the greatest thing there is. There is nothing like a crisp fall Saturday in Knoxville before a home game. The pregame atmosphere is amazing. The Vol walk, The Pride of The Southland Band saluting the Hill, running through the "T", the orange and white checkerboard endzones and the sea of orange in Neyland Stadium. Does it get any better? I started watching and listening to the Vols in the late 60's. Went to my first game in the mid 70's when I was in high school. Took my youngest son to his first game in 2006. I made a lifelong vol fan that day.
