I grew up in georgia, my mom was a vol fan and my dad was a dawg fan, luckily i chose the vols. I think about it today, what it would be like wearing red and black shirts to games instead of orange and white. It makes me wanna puke .Oh, and i persuaded my dad to be a vol fan, he is a big one just like me now. lol

My parent were both alums so that's where I got it from. My Dad was military growing up though but I was still always wearing orange no matter where we lived. When it came time for college for me I of course picked UT and set up a savings account while in school so I could afford season tickets after I graduated.

The fans are awesome. The sea of orange is beautiful. The pre-game is unmatched. The tradition is amazing. There's nothing I don't love about it.

It`s in your blood or not. I can`t explain it. Let me tell the volnation a story or two.
First: My oldest in kindergarten named her colors red blue big orange green yellow, her teacher said I know your daddy so I`ll count that as correct.
Second: 1-1-1986 Sugar Bowl my wife is NINE months pregnant with twins I`m her labor coach. I tell her if she really loves me she will wait until after the game.Boom twins delivered 1-5-1986.:)

Long story as short as possible. I was in Viet Nam in 1968. There were two guys in my platoon who were from L.A. and they were huge UCLA fans. They assumed I was a Vol fan being from Nashville, TN and were bragging about how UCLA would kick our hillbilly a$$es. Having grown up in Nashville I was actually a Vandy fan at the time (PLEASE DON'T TELL ANYONE!) and their taunting really didn't bother me that much. But when we got the score the day after the game the Vols had kicked butt 42-18. Since I saw that score that day in '68 on the other side of the world I was converted and have bled orange ever since then and will ALWAYS bleed orange! GO VOLS!

I was born in Georgia, but grew up in Nashville. The way I actually became a Vols fan was because my first year of pee-wee football was for a team called the Flatrock Vols. That was way back in 71 and I was all of 6 years old. Been bleeding orange ever since.

Because some of my first memories are of John Ward.

Because I'm a Tennessean.

Because I'm a graduate of the University of Tennessee.

I hate Alabama.

You could enjoy baseball a lot more

The BaseVols will be back. The Raleigh era will over and forgotten soon.

I'd much rather watch the Vols lose at
hop-scotch than watch Vandy win at ANYTHING!!!!!

My most fond memory as a young Vol fan: In the fall of '89, my friends and I were camping out in the back yard listening to the Vols beat UCLA on the road. We were yelling so loud, the neighbors called my parents to see if everything was OK. Lol!!!

From then on, I was hooked. My whole family BLEEDS Orange. We live or die with every play, during every game! My daughter went to her first game at 6 months old. My little brother is currently a UT student-athlete. Go Vols!!! FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because, as an eight-year old, Travis Stephens against UF made me realize how awesome orange and white was. That game was absolutely amazing. Made me a Vol for life.

"I was Tennessee born, Tennessee bred and when I die, I'll be Tennessee dead!"

That pretty much sums it up on my end.

Both of My parents are from Sale Creek,TN, My dad was in the military so we moved around alot and I actually never lived there, but every year we would spend two weeks back in Sale Creek and visit family, I always loved going there (and Krystals). The 98 season really is what hooked me for all things sports at tennessee. My mom lives back in Sale Creek and I visit every year I love it! I love it! I love it!

Grew up with 2 hopes. 1, to go to UT. 2, to be the Drum Major for the Pride. I accomplished half of it, and got close enough on #2...

My Dad was born in UT Knox. Hospital. That started it off. A lot of my family went to UT. I love the color Orange. I love the T, running through the T, 100k+ screaming fans, the amazing city and state alone. Everything about Tennessee is just right... Whats not to love?
