I am curious. There are a number of good reasons.

Could it be

You are an alumni
You are a student
You love the location
You love the people here
You grew up cheering for them
You are from here
someone that attended the University previously
Your parents

why do you love Tennessee?

for me I grew up in a house of Volmaniacs. Season tickets holders and I had a stretch from the time I was 9 years old till 14 I didn't miss a home game.

Because the football fans come to the games even when the team sucks.

Ditto the squirrel.

And because no other sporting event matches a Tennessee football game for me.

I'm a Tennessean! Grew Up a Vol! didn't really understand how great it was to be in the Volnation until i went to my first football game in K-town! The "Running through the T" gave me chills and I couldn't hear myself think! it was a very memorable moment! Its Great to Be A Tennessee VOL!

i love the color orange. sounds odd, but thats half the reason. my dad has been a tennessee fan for years and years. growing up, i liked orange and my dad eventually rubbed off. so the connection formed.

I lived in Chattanooga from when i was 3 til i was 7. Smokey and Rocky Top helped prevent me from becoming a UGA fan like my dad. And for that i'm forever indebted.

John Ward on Saturday afternoons. The people are nicer than anywhere in the country. The mountains are the best. The fans are the best. Its where I grew up.

because im an east tennesseean. Because orange is the most beautiful color there is. Because running through the t sends a jolt of electricity through my body. John wards voice makes my heart pound and rocky top brings a tear to my eye. Victory over alabama causes me to lose almost sleep as defeat to alabama. But most of all because i have to.

I grew up going to games, my passion for the Vols started at a very young age. Majors was HC, astroturf was the playing surface (also doubled as a "slip 'n slide" for a few lucky fans/students and grounds crew at halftime and at the end of a game if raining), and Andy Kelly was at QB. I have been lucky to witness a lot of great Vols play in Neyland Stadium.

Born and raised in TN. Family were Vol fans. Raised a Vol fan. Now a Vol alumnus. Live in CA but still bleed orange and will for the rest of my life. If my CA born kids don't cheer for the Vols with me, they will go to an orphanage. Not joking.

Born and raised in Chattanooga! Use to listen to John ward on the radio when I was a kid and man he made you feel like you were right there in the stadium. I would then go outside and play that same game in my front yard. I tell my doctor that when you draw blood its going to come out ORANGE BABY!!!!!!!

I have grown up a vol fan because the rest of the household was and Still is. But once you grow up and really get to know the tradition, it makes all the scense in the world to want to be a part of that. Volunteer fans that are truthfully vol fans make it fun to be part of the fan base. Even though this is a little down time, I'm still going to pull for them like everygame is the national title.

There once was a cattle drive. A small one, but a cattle drive none the less, from Middelton. My grandfather was a trail hand. Flanker to be exact. They went to Ft Worth and then trickled down to the coast in search of oil riches. He never forgot about where he came from, and though my daughter is seventh generation Texan, I insist that we will always show respect to our out of state heritage. We will forever be Texans and Aggies first, but we will always wish the best for the state of Tennessee. Gig em, Rock on Rocky Top.

Peyton Manning, Neyland Stadium, SEC Football. I live in Philadelphia PA. I hate the big 10, when it came time to choose a college football team I always loved Peyton Manning, Neyland is gigantic and beautiful covered in orange, and the SEC is just unbelievable, can't wait until Saturdays in the Fall
