This is a year that we beat Florida or we lose to Kentucky. In my opinion, with how Florida struggled to beat East Carolina (who got dog whipped by Navy) is more of an indication that Florida is bad than it is that Kentucky is good. It's just too soon still to know for certain.

But odds are in our favor for so many reasons:

1) 11 years without a win is unlikely.
2) Florida is under a new coaching system.
3) Their QB is not that good.
4) Their QB took a pounding last week and is probably a little banged up.
5) Their backup QB is a Vandy transfer who has no real experience playing under their system. I know...fear the back up, but get real.
6) Bad press this week for UF with distracting suspensions and twitter drama.
7) We have a hungry team. More so than Florida, whose looking ahead as evidenced by their coach talking about their upcoming SEC schedule. We are more hungry than ever thanks to OU.
8) We have positive things happening...players back, Lane kiffin rumors to take our minds off the stress of this week even if for just an hour.
9) We are a better team than last year, while Florida is worse off after losing most of their offensive line from last year.
10) Our coaches have something to prove; theirs gets a pass.
11) We have been holding back in my opinion and have some special game planning in place.

:salute:

It's going to be 10 years of frustration being let loose. I think Florida is over confident and are going to be smacked down early and often. Look for a repeat of the Tax Slayer Bowl. We win big. Move to 20 in the polls.

:salute:

A bulked up Hurd.
A challenged Oline: for weeks all they've heard is you can't block a good dline.
Alvin Kamara: bubble screens, draws, to neutralize an overly aggressive dline.
Maybin containing Grier and gets a critical sack.
Shy Tuttle and O'Brien control the Gators run game.

X-Factors: I have two: I like Ethan Wolfe this game as an alleged part of the game plan. Special teams a solid punter to pin them deep, Cam or Berry house one ala Brandon James.

Their defense is good. But do we really believe that they are as good as all the hype. They haven't played anyone. Kentucky is, and always will be Kentucky. Period.

i know yall dont wanna hear it but this is the most talented defense since 08 imo

there isnt really a weakness

secondary - as good as any in the country

lb's - not deep but we got 2 pretty damn good ones in morrison and davis

dl - same as secondary

alright enough talk for now ill save the rest for sat night

UT's 2005 defense finished top five in the country that year and we won 5 games. Offense has to do something.

Why do we lose to Florida!

(1) We have a better team than them but they will make one more play than us.

(2) We have a 4th quarter lead but our coaching staff will stop doing what we have been doing and make unnecessary adjustments to the offense or defense. For instance, we run the entire game and Florida can't stop us, so in the 4th quarter, with a lead, we start passing and throw an int.

(3) We have a lead then the player start to let the Florida players get in their heads and they make mistakes and we lose.

(4) Our defense holds Florida but the ref's pull a Jabar Gaffney and we lose.

(5) One of our key players gets injured and we lose, (See Justin Hunter)

To quote George Mallory when a report asked him why he climbed Mount Everest, "Because it's there."

i know basically every vol fan thinks will grier is a complete scrub but i actually expect him to have a pretty damn good game

sounds like you guys are counting on true freshmen dl's to come up big

your mlb isnt very good and you have some questionable db's back there too

taxslayer bowl? lol anybody expecting to score much on this uf defense will be very dissapointed

Eastern Carolina put up 24 on Florida two weeks ago. Our offense is twice as good or more. We should score 48 on Florida. (We put up 45 on Utah).

It really is this simple. Go ahead and get on the orange wagon. I understand all the prior let downs may make it hard. Just trust me. It's a gravy train. We gonna whip em bad.

Remember that I said this when we are done on Saturday. Write it down and all that whatnot.

UT needs to get to the point mentally where their success is based on skill and coaching acumen as opposed to hoping your opponent, league or division is down.

Let it out, now let it go. This is a new era. Get some therapy. You can see it worked for me.
