Why do so many expect lightspeed improvement?

Why do so many think that if you are for this coaching staff that means you can't criticize them at all. I don't think keeping kickoffs from getting past midfield is expecting lightspeed improvement.

Is it the coaches' fault that they inherited crappy kickers?

Light speed improvement, would be expecting this team to beat UF, Bama, Ole Miss, and I will even throw UGA in there.

AU and UCLA are a different story.

Didn't Saban and Carroll go 6-6 their first years?

Yep, but Saban had been successful at Toledo, MSU, and LSU. He had also won two SECC and a MNC.

Carrol had been successful in the NFL, coaching NE to an AFC East Championship.

Meanwhile, Kiffin has never been successful as head coach and has a paltry 7-18 lifetime record.

Not seeing the relevance. I never knew records at previous schools counted towards your record at your current job.

The problem I see for UT is that they only hired L. Kiffiin, who has never accomplished anything except being born to Monte Kiffin, to get M. Kiffen and his buddies so they could make the NFL recruiting pitch. Only problem is that will only last one year and then you are left with, well, Lane Kiffin.

Come on, put down the Kiffin Koolaid and look at the situation objectively. Nearly every single successful college coach got to their jobs by successfully coaching at a lesser, second tier school.

Meanwhile, Kiffin has never been successful as a head coach.

I know it's a hard concept to pick up when your viewpoint is clouded by Kiffin Koolaid: Past success typically leads to future success. Conversely, past failure typically leads to future failure.

We were outcoached, we didn't play to win, CLK hire was a mistake, why keep playing Crompton, we are all going to die, the sky is falling. The last 2 were for dramatics but to prove a point. If the people who are complaining so much will ask themself 1 question: How long have you noticed a decline in talent on the Vols roster? If you say 1 year then obviously you have noticed the gap the past 7 to 8 yrs. Get off the excuse and blame wagon, accept the facts that this year is not going to be nothing special and get behind the team or pick a new one.
