Why do opposing fans feel the need to chant when our players are injured?

It happened last year with Bama, this year with Georgia, and tonight with USC...Our player is laying on the field injured and their fans start the U-S-C Goooooo COCKS (which is one of the most annoying chants I've heard, by the way). Several USC players were injured before ours was and I don't recall any chants from UT fans.

And yes, just like in the Bama and Georgia game, when USC started it, the student section responded with "F*** you Gamecocks"

Gamecock Fan ~ "I arrived in the stadium about 1 hr 10 min before the game. I was treated well and everybody was nice..untill the second half. The UT crowd was absent untill the last 2 min or so of the 4th qrt. In the fourth one of their line men went down, and he was down for a while..and during the 6th min of him being down we started the GAME-COCKS chant, followed by a stadium yelling "f*** YOU GAMECOCKS -clap-clap-clap". After the game, you would never know that they won a game before, vulgar, ugly remarks walking back to the hotel..I mean be happy your team won, but no reason to be ugly to the vistors. I have been alot of places and UT is deff the worst..when we won in 05, my friend got punched in the face leaving the stadium. Worst Fan Base..the worst"

Another Gamecock Fan ~ "I have never liked UT due to haynesworth and his BS, but when we won in 05 I was stunned at the hospitality and humbleness the UT faithful showed ... a few older gentlemen shaked my hand as we left the stadium. every fan bas has the a-holes. im sure ut has their share as well."

Yeah classless Gamecocks fans as usual. They are quiet as a church mouse when losing but turn obnoxious very quickly until they are put back in their place.

we booed them with the chant, no need to look like a bunch of spoiled children by cussing them as well. Classless on both parts.

I wouldn't have chanted, I would've punched someone...still classless I guess. What are we supposed to do let them continue with their classless chanting. F that.

Yeah, the stadium started yelling at them when they began chanting. It seemed to be coming from the upper deck endzone where there were a bunch of cocks together. They shutup when everyone yelled at them, but the the f you chant started up.

Pre-game I was sneaking a leak behind a dumpster, and two cocks cornered me in a threatening manner. I didn't have much patience with their fans after that incident.

Cussing people makes you look like street trash in the real world. Agreed about students, sometimes ETOH clowds vision at all ages, god knows I have thrown it around as well, but let us try to have some class and just boo and go on at worst.

the "f you gamecocks" chant didn't last nearly as long as the one at the UGA game.

Some guy behind me tried to start a "f you fulmer" chant. I about punched him in the face.

The f u chant makes you look like a sorry fool. Never has brought good things in my life and I cant imagine it will ever do good in any situation. Next time chant run the ball Fulmer, it makes more since.

Were you talking to me? Because I don't cuss at anyone during games, but the coaches and their piss poor play calling.

I treat other fans with all the respect I would want if I was a visiting fan.

Nope, just speaking from personal exp. F U has got me into more trouble than good. You are good in my book man. In two years when I get out of school, come by the tailgate and we can drop F bombs over beer and ribs all day.

Go i think all of the Cocks chants were obnoxious as hell. there was one guy all alone chanting them throughout the game. Call me classless if you will but it seemed to me that the F U gamecocks got the point across quite nicely.

I was hoping there would be a FU game cocks chant when they started chanting. They're guests in our stadium and if they are rude, we're gonna give em hell.

In my opinion chanting a while a player is down is like wizzing on a man on fire. Every time a USC player got hurt the UT fans were respectfull and clapped when they got up and walked away. For the cocks to act like they did made them deserve a FU chant.
