Why didn't Hamilton interview Mike Leach?

If not for his recent issues,and his failed interview last year he might have been hired,but no way on earth hammy hires the guy now.Might as well put a gun in his own mouth.

Here is why:
3 weeks to NSD.
A recruiting class in shambles
Whoever we hire, had to assemble a staff quickly
And then hit the ground running
You think Leach would have been focused on that with him being butt hurt over TT? Plus our athletes are Pro set as well as our recruits. How do you think those recruits would react to the X-Box 360 offense with three weeks to go? :blink:

LAWSUIT, TRYING TO FIX A PROBLEM, LEACH would have FLUSHED our program down the Toilet. BAD TIMING.

ALL of the above or one will do.

Good god...I'd bring back Bill Battle before hiring Leach. Leach will resurface at a WAC or
Conference USA type school at some point.

Leach was at Tech forever and the only time he came remotely close to winning a championship, his team got beat by a score of about 100-20.

He never had a losing season in 10 seasons at Tech. Our current coach had 2 in 3 years.

I didn't say our coach was good. I'm saying Leach would fail, too. I feel like Dooley has a small chance to succeed. I feel like Leach has no chance.

Didn't Mike Leach turn us down last year and now that he is unimployed we should be interested in him.I think until his baggage gets settled alot of people will stay away from him.

I totally agree with all of this and was totally against Leach last year (before the James incident). It's all relative. That just shows how far this search fell.

If we had any idea that we needed to be debating Dooley as a candidate, Leach's stock goes way up.

Hamilton just seems to be able to think a lot less of this program than I can.

Hamilton needs to watch the Godfather movie. Make them an offer they cant refuse.
