Call timeout vs Florida after the refs missed the expired play clock when uf kicked the winning fg?

He had about 5 minutes before the next kickoff.

Were the coaches in the booth asleep?

I remain incredulous that no one on our staff saw the error, given they had 5 minutes to field calls and texts from viewers

I thought we had a good week. We picked up a win and 2 recruits. Didn't know we were still complaining. My bad.

Pat Dooley of the Gainesville Sun tonight:

"Florida fans have this, a program with nine losses in its last 12 games, with one of those wins coming over Eastern Michigan and the other two aided by missed delay of game penalties."

Or...Or....Or... you can accept reality. Our coaches probably did see the error. However, they live in the real world of college football where you cannot throw the red flag to review a penalty that was not called. Good try though.

Um, you can call TO, allow the big screen to show it 20 times, and hope the guys in the booth notice. Instead, nothing.

I love how you say this so "matter-of-factly." Like that some how makes it true. You're such a trooper.

If you say it often enough and seem very sincere in saying it eventually someone will believe it.

Oh sorry... I thought this was the "Cable news channels are awful" thread.

Didn't we cover this topic, like, three weeks ago? It's the exact same situation from the Kentucky-Florida game. The SEC responded about what happened.

"At the request of the University of Kentucky, consistent with SEC protocol, the conference office reviewed the fourth down play in the first overtime of the Kentucky-Florida game and has determined the officials applied the proper mechanics and guidelines that are in place to determine when a flag should be thrown for delay of game. The back judge is responsible for delay of game calls. The procedure for the back judge is for his eyes to stay on the clock when it nears zero. When the clock hits zero, he immediately looks from the clock to the ball. If the ball is moving, there is no delay of game. If the ball is stationary, a delay of game penalty is called."

Procedures followed correctly. No problem with the no call.

And when they need that wasted timeout for a potential game winning drive?...hope the replay officials throw em a bone and give them some extra seconds? Sound!...Muy sound! :clapping:

Rocky Goode confirmed this. The NFL refs react on "0" but the SEC refs give them another split second.

Obviously you're not awake. There was no penalty therefore there is no review to stop, throw a red flag etc...In case you've missed this important fact: There has to be a penalty in order to review a penalty!
