I was reading Stan Drayton's bio, and was curious to know - Why did he leave Florida for Tennessee??

If he was such a strong recruiter at Florida, than why did the Gators not attempt to keep him??

Did CPF offer him more money or something??

Just curious...his bio makes him sound like all that...

UF doesn't use a real running game---Drayton didn't like not being a featured part of the O, and told meyer he was taking off. I don't think Meyer really liked him anyway. Since coming to UT, drayton hasn't done squat. Hopefully, Kiffin hires a big time RB coach soon.

Drayton hasn't shown me squat as a RB coach for either team. He left because he wasn't good enough. Be realistic.

I remember reading that Fla doesn't use their rb's that much and TN was better suited to his style. I also remember reading posts here and at gvx about how good he would do here. I'm all for giving him another season since everyone seems to be of the opinion it was Clawson's offense at fault. Drayton might just work out under Kiffin.IMO.

Thats what i was thinking! everyone wants to judge him and assume he's a bad coach when he's only been here one year. I would give him another year just to see if it was the system that clawson ran or not.

Can you give me a quick run down on Gran? Keep seeing his name come up but no specifics.

coached Deuce McAllister, Rudi Johnson, Ronnie Brown, Carnell Williams, Kenny Irons. one of the better RB's coaches in the nation. good recruiter and oh yeah, something everybody here would like, he was the special teams coach at Auburn along with his duties coaching the RB's

Him and Urban didn't have a good relationship from what I understand. Supposedly Urban made him cry after practice once or something.

He didn't like the offense at Florida because the RB's are not featured. Urban did not put up a fight when he said he was leaving. Read between the lines. Fulmer wanted him to recruit Florida. He really wasn't known for his ability to coach RB's and it showed last year. All of his recruits have decommitted. Good riddance. Bring in Gran.

Because Urban is an ______! (fill in the blank with the word of choice)
Also did they even need a RB coach when Drayton was there? Tebow and Harvin made up about 90% of the offense.

I don't know if he is a good coach or not, but he hasn't impressed me much with his recruiting prowess.

well he's had some pretty big names fall in love with him...I'd say he's a good recruiter but when I heard him tell Giles to look around and weigh his options he was just about dead to me.
