Why did Dylan Sampson sit out vs. Ohio State?

He injured his hamstring against Vanderbilt at the end of the game and aggravated it against in warm up’s in the cold to try and go. Literally all of our skill positions sat out from our soft WRS to our weak ass QB at UCLA.
Nico may be gone, but he played his ass off in that game.

Nico played awful against ohio state. Go back and watch. WRs running open, but Nico keeps running head down, not keeping his eyes up the field, and slams into the first 3 Osu lineman He sees. I don’t get all the praise for Osu game, a good qb would’ve started hitting those rollouts and making the defense play honest.
There is a BIGGGG difference in playing awful and playing hard. Many times playing hard as an average player allows the hard playing average guy to out preform a great player.

Will Levis played extremely gritty, tough, and hard in his last game at Neyland.

Nico didn’t sit. He ran the ball a lot, took a lot if hits, and played tough. I can’t stand what he did in spring, but I can separate the way he played against Ohio State from that situation.
Yep. He actually gave the most effort of anyone I saw on offense. I think his dad is an imbecile for telling Heupel he needed more around him, simply because Heupel already knew that. But that wasn’t wrong

Do you think Nic,Sr would have understood that his son’s NIL value played a role in funds available to improve that oline? Yet they wanted more?

Sorry. Sampson was hurt.

It would've made more sense if he hadn't transferred to UCLA, where the talent around him isn't half of what he'd have had at Tennessee this year.

Money over everything. They gambled and thought other large programs would offer to pay at least what Tennessee was paying. Problem was Nico had not proven he was worth that.

Nico sat out by trying to renegotiate his contract before the game alienating the team in favor of his selfish mindset. I watched the game. He played by himself. Our team gave up before we took the field. He was a major part of that.
It’s pretty disingenuous to say “our team gave up before we took the field.” You’re painting with some pretty broad strokes.

...vs. Ohio State.

Sorry for being late to the party, but why?

Never saw an explanation.

Most surprised I've been in years to see him standing on the sidelines for 3+ quarters. SEC POY.
I didn’t even realize he did. That’s a huge difference maker. We would have won with him :)

I was you until Nico comment. Without him we lost by 50. His drama after the bowl game and since was inexcusable .

I pray one day our skill players can be internet tough guys like yourself.

Nico took a spear tackle from his strong side like a champ. Most people would have seen it coming and might have dodged.. Not Nico. He was tough as nails and twice as intelligent!
