I have purchased season tickets and made a donation to Tn Fund for about seven years now. I sit in section R and season tickets after donation cost $760 a pair.

You can buy the two mini packs and game to Ga. State giving you season tickets(granted not in same section) for $700.

And the University Athletic Department wonders why season tickets are going down!!!

I agree. I know UT would like the seats sold, but to sell them below what donors pay?

The ages old question of the size of tails fitting on bench seats with knees in your and your fellow fans backs with the privilege of paying over $1500 for two season tickets in the lower level comes into question. In light of HDTV, instant replay, surfing to other games during commercials, easy chair, plenty of lower cost refreshments, and uncrowded restrooms - it is pretty easy to understand. It's the last year for me to buy them if they don't step it up this season. Not worth the money and hassle to watch mediocrity.

IMO the only way to change this is to drop it back to 90,000 or so; have all seats with seat backs; add a north end zone jumbotron; update the Pride of Southland presentations; keep adding restrooms and expanded refreshments. If they did they could increase the prices and donations if the product on the field improved strongly.

A few factors, number 1 is not winning like we used to, HDTV figures in, then there's the economy, winning will fix most of it

Back to the OP, after thinking about it your donation must be extremely low to get a pair for only $760 after donation. If the average price is $50 (I don't know, just guessing) for 7 games, that's $350x2 = $700 just for the tix.

Obviously, games are much more fun when you win, and it sucks going to the *insert SEC rival team here* game only to get your a$$ beat and then have to trudge home through the throngs of *insert SEC rival team here* fans who are there celebrating on your home territory.

Something I'd like to see, which I don't think will ever happen, is for the administration to stop shutting down Circle Park for their members-only Alumni (and yes, I'm an alumnus) bullshat, and allow people to tailgate Ole Miss Grove-style in the park.

Or hell, turn it over to the students, and let students camp out all night on Friday nights before the game, call it T-ville or something. The whole dry campus thing could be a buzz kill, but I think it could work.

I am sorry the 760 is just for the tickets my donation is not included in the 760. My point is that you can get season tickets right now cheaper than individuals who buy them priority. My donation is over 2k so I pay over 3500 for four tickets when I can get a pair with using mini packs for 1400. Doesn't make since to me. After seeing this their is no advantage to making a donation think the AD has really messed up on this one.

In 2008, after UT lost to UCLA and the attendance for the UAB home opener was less than stellar Mike Hamilton placed part of the blame on HDTV. I laughed at the time, but that is certainly a reality now.

The NFL is trying to make the stadium experience more like the home experience for its games. Think about that. Leave your house, buy tix, parking, etc., to go to a football game where the league is trying to make it more like home? Only in America!

the difference is that you have the tickets in hand and they are guaranteed to be there. The same can't be said for the mini-packs

Only if you care about sitting in the same seats every game. Other than that your tickets are guaranteed for every game, just in different seats.

That makes more sense. Thanks for clearing that up. If I were a season ticket holder and shelled out double for what I can go online in mid-July and get lower levels for half price, I'd be ticked.

I see your point, but with the economy and stadium size the mini packs are going to be around for a while. If/ when they reduce them then get season tickets.

I get that too but also be ready to start over on the priority list once they start selling again.

Some people like having the same seats every year. My family has been in the same seats since the early 70's and bought them to sit with some of their college friends. I now go to many games and sit with the kids of those same people. I guess it's what you would call tradition

That's pretty cool. Nothing wrong with that tradition. :good!:

Either keep the ticket prices at the original price and not sell them or lower the price to sell them but anger your existing customer base. Mike Hamilton was a supporter of the the former, he said he didn't want to devalue the product. Dave Hart appears to be in the latter case and wants the sales.
