Why Curt Maggit went to UT instead of UF

A toilet prank, whereby someone defecates in the refill tank (water closet), causing each additional flush to deliver brown, poopy water into the bowl.

Jim was being such a jerk at his party, so I went upstairs to his bathroom and dropped an upper decker in his toilet.

3000th post, and it's a picture of Bray upper decking a Gator toilet. Boom...

Also known as going top shelf though top shelf has taken on a different meaning recently.

Fascinating story... be even more fascinating if any of it was true. Quinn has never been to Maggitt's house, and UT had the exact same number of arrests as UF at the time he's referring to.

Interesting to note that he got those impressions while reading the papers... where he's from in Florida. Well, of course; unless he gets a Knoxville paper down in Florida, he wouldn't pick one up every day and read about player problems at UT like he would about UF. The media lived off negative reporting about UF while they were the most talked about program in the country during Meyer's run. In stark contrast, UT's player problems rarely registered a blip on the national media radar unless the crime was so heinous they couldn't avoid writing about it.

In any event, here are the UT arrests, obtained via Freedom Of Information Act requests, for the period Maggitt's father talks about:

TENNESSEE (27 football + 4 basketball) (31)
Jerod Mayo (aggravated assault)

Robert Ayers (aggravated assault)

Britton Colquitt (felony DUI)

Arian Foster (disorderly conduct)

David Holbert (disorderly conduct)

Antonio Wardlow (disorderly conduct, public intoxication)

Tony McDaniel (aggravated assault)

Bert Smith (misdemeanor assault)

Brett Schaeffer (misdemeanor assault)

Lee Smith (DUI)

Marsalous Johnson (aggravated assault)

Vince Faison (DUI)

Gerald Jones (marijuana possession)

Ahmad Page (marijuana possession)

Anthony Parker (disorderly conduct)

Daryl Vereen (public intoxication)

Marvin Mitchell (disorderly conduct)

Josh McNeil (underage drinking, public intoxication)

Justin Jackson (felony, manufacturing, selling and delivering crack cocaine)

Demetrice Morley (outstanding warrant of strong-armed robbery charge)

Daniel Brooks (driving with a suspended license)

Janzen Jackson (attempted armed robbery)

Nu’Keese Richardson (attempted armed robbery)

Mike Edwards (attempted armed robbery)

Darren Myles (public intoxication, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct)

Darren Myles (assaulting a police officer, evading arrest, and resisting arrest)

Da’Rick Rogers (disorderly conduct and resisting arrest)

4 players from the basketball team (Tyler Smith, Cameron Tatum, Melvin Goins, and Brian Williams) - Tatum was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and having an open container of alcohol. Smith was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, which police first said was a felony but later Friday reported as a misdemeanor. Goins and Williams both face gun and drug possession charges.

Sadly, both UF and UT have had a couple since then as well; but in both cases, their new coaches seem to be the type of guys who aren't willing to put up with much nonsense like that.

They've both already sent some guys packing, including 2 who were top players on their respective teams, Janoris Jenkins at UF and Janzen Jackson at UT. I hope it's not an initial thing with JJ's (note that Jordan Jefferson at LSU just got charged with assault and battery for stomping a marine's head into the concrete); because we still have more JJ's on our team.
