Why can't we get a running back?

I think it is pretty obvious. When have we had a great running game? Any great running back is going some place where they are known to have a good running game. We need a good enough line that can open holes to run through and I haven't seen any consistency with our line. :zeitung_lesen:

Wait till after we're finished beating on Florida in Neyland this year, bringing us to 3-0. Then you'll have the treasure that you seek. In fact, it will fall right into your hands. Won't even have to go looking for it.

I think we are in much better shape than you realize. We have enough RB talent on the roster to have a great running attack. I think Q Watson will be the sleeper of the 2012 class...quite possibly our version of Chris Johnson.

Roster says we have a few. This season will show if we have a true stud or serviceable players. They are young and who knows what we will see.
Who knows what the season holds for our current players and those possible recruits that we could sign. But, that's why we all will be watching to find out. To be an all American talent takes all American production and play making consistency.
So, we will see after the season on both fronts in terms of the perception of UT's stable of RB's on the roster or committed to join that roster.

You have to have an offensive coordinator that cares about the running game. Chaney runs a pass first offense that features the QB and receivers. Another problem is that you have a head coach that ignored the running game for two years without a designated position coach. Thank goodness, Dave Hart hired Jay Graham.

Do not think for a minute that opposing recruiters are not selling this to the star players.

Just a hunch. Watch for Kamara and D-Green after the seasons starts. The running game will be good this season. Coach Pittman knows his craft. Coach Graham will then close the deal. Bourque will be a stud in development this season.

We have running backs. Name the other SEC teams that have great rb's? (Other than the obvious UA,SCe...) I think you will find that we have recruited good, not elite, talent... but few have.

Because we don't have a running identity on offense. We are going to live and die by Bray and the WR core, so a true RB isn't going to come here without seeing more of a dedication to the running game.

Pretty sure most of you were fired up when we signed 2 of the top 10 in the country with oku and brown. That didn't work out too well.

Lane will impress this year if healthy. Playing injured as a true freshman behind a crappy playing, confused line and losing his key wr and qb didn't help him last year.

What is "NM"? I see folks on VQ do this all the time. Start a thread, give it a title and just put "NM" in the body of the post. Someone explain, please. TIA

There is a reason that Kiffin did not let Chaney do the play calling. This is a predominant power run league and you have to be able to play smash mouth or die here. Even Spurrier realized this.

It is a secret code and we would have to kill you if you understood it.

I believe it means "never mind." Happens when people make stupid posts and then come to their senses.
