Why can’t we just go out and pay for a good coach?

Meyer or Freeze. It's not complicated; our AD just isn't interested in actually doing what it takes. Freeze has his FBS team 7-0 and they just beat Virginia Tech. He is 10,000 times the coach that Pruitt will ever be, and we could get him right now if any of our powers that be gave a damn.

You are right. He is a prima donna but he can coach. He won’t last more than 5 years but could win you a natty.

I don’t believe we can and/or will attract a proven coach. I guess those that make the decisions think we will find the next great coach; good luck with that.

It’s looking like Mullen would have been a decent option. I bet Mullen wouldn’t be starting JG...

Proven winning coaches, big time coaches, etc don’t move much. If a team can afford it they lock them down with a great contract. When they do move it’s rare and usually due to something other than money.

Unless you have an alumnus wanting to come home or get lucky with your timing, for the most part you either hire head coaches from small schools or coordinators and hope to get lucky.

We'll keep Pruitt, and hopefully he'll get the program sorted.

I don't remember how we missed Mullen, but right now, it "smarts" pretty good... - making the Gators a pain that just won't go away.

Fla thought they had Chip Kelly I think and he went to UCLA instead. Mullen was their next choice.

You hoped for a coach that wanted to play throw back/old school football that would run the ball 75% of the time.

Seriously though...how different might things have been if we’d have hired David Blackburn? Jumbo fisher was legitimately there for the taking. But we weren’t willing to go big. SUCKS TO BE A VOL FAN

There's a good ass coach out there at a **** program and has then undefeated. He aslo has proven he can win in the SEC at Ole Miss of all places. Bet we won't even talk to him. Lmao
