I hate saying this because I still support Dooley but, why aren't talks about chris petersen more serious? And are chip kelly and bob stoops that obvious to turn us down?

Kelly and stoops-really why on earth would they leave their current situations?

Some times the best answer is the easiest

Peterson has turned down several jobs. I am not sure that Bob Stoops is that great of a coach but you never know. I doubt Chip Kelly would leave for UT

But thanks for giving me no information. Now, can someone else explain why no one is talking about Petersen or why he wouldn't leave boise?

his son has a medical condition that Boise St hospital has a special situation set up for him...and he hates doing interviews and dealing with the media in Boise, much less the SEC...

I suspect that Peterson may emerge as a possible candidate if Gruden declines. Until Gruden declines, there probably won't be any other hyped up candidates. Whoever lures Peterson away from Boise is going to have to pay him big time and I doubt that Tennessee is the job he is holding out for. Stoops is not a factor. Only way he would consider the Vols is if he were out of a job. Same for Chip Kelly, he isn't nor will he be Knoxville bound.

The better question is why would you leave those situations to come to Tennessee or even the SEC? Look at teams like Colorado, Utah, and TCU. They leave the smaller conferences and find out it is MUCH more difficult to win in some of these conferences and the SEC is the worst. The SEC is a grinder of a conference and why would you want to leave a great situation where you're ranked in the top 10 every year to come some place where you have to beat four top 10 teams just to win your division of the SEC.

lol if you guys think Chip Kelly would leave Oregon and Nike's money for the sh%t storm we have down here you are delusional.

Oregon is a much better job than TN right now.

I hate to say it, but it's true.

Stoops?
I donno. Maybe for just silly amounts of money, but I seriously doubt it.

Peterson?
He's the one I'd take first out of those guys. Dude is a winner. He seems like he won't leave idaho though.... which kills me.

One little tidbit about Petersen that is not exactly worldly information:

He has a son who fell when he was a year old, hit his head and somehow, it developed into cancer that has spread into his spine. The medical team that currenty supports him in Boise has been the same reliable team since the accident. Chris Petersen has stated that he would be hard pressed to leave Boise for that very reason and his wife feels the same way. He had made arrangements with Dan Hawkins and the BSUAD that his recruiting trips would be limited if he took over as HC after DH departed for CU.

Well...here's a link. I just don't think Chris Petersen is going anywhere...at least not in the near future.

All the current HC's that are considered homerun hires are in better situations right now and won't leave for a rebuilding job.

Peterson is in an ideal situation for himself. And Stoops and Kelly are at better jobs right now than they would be in if they came here. Besides I'm not convinced that Kelly would be a good fit anyway.
