Why are you thankful for the 2016 Vols???

I am thankful for the nail biting, heart stopping, thriller games we have had this year. Been a long time since I have enjoyed a Tennessee football season this much. So nice to have hope again. Yes, the losses, esp SC sucked, but after some reflection, were not enough to override the pure joy from earlier in the season for me. Go Vols!

And thanks OP

The losses to A&M and Bama were bitter medicine, but understandable. The Vol's inability to put away creampuffs like Ohio and Appy State was nauseating. The D's disappearance in the last quarter of the Kentucky game was frightening. The team's el foldo to USC was reminiscent of Dooley's last Kentucky game. So, that leaves me with Va. Tech and Tenn. Tech to savor. Somehow, I don't feel that grateful.

Going toe to toe with the Mountaineers and walking away with the Dub!

I'm not thankful for a failed season. That South Carolina loss is one of the worst losses in a decade & cost us immensely in national stature (still unranked) & in recruiting and will continue to show it was the beginning of the end of Butch's tenure.

This. Ole Miss yanked a redshirt of their future and its paying dividends in recruiting. We aren't getting a NY6 bowl so we should let her rip with QD and JG.

I'm thankful that the Vols still have enough players to field a defense.... that there aren't more nega-dullards in the FF than we have already.....that the program appears to be moving on the right direction.... finally

They have bodies to field a defense, barely. They're a liability at this point. Offense will have to have a couple of really good games. This defense isn't stopping anyone right now.

I agree. The staff needs to be very aggressive on offense and keep their foot on the pedal.

Saw you got a new van....

Got two.. One stays down in Williamson county primarily. Shawn lives down there so he covers that area. I used to have a old dodge. I'm in a Chevy now.

They showed me my heart is in good condition lol

All thing aside it's been a roller coaster ride this season but beating Florida and Georgia was great.

I'm thankful for being a Tennessee graduate and fan. It's amazing how we celebrate our team 365 days a year and we really only get 14/15 days a year to watch our squad. It goes by so fast. So I'm thankful for a total of 14/15 games a year and all the ups and downs that take place during a season. Nothing like football season, you wait 8 months and it's gone in the blink of an eye. Go Vols.

Thankful we're still in the conversation for a SECCG appearance.. Been a while, maybe we get there.. If not win out and get to the best bowl possible. I'm fine with it either way.

Looks good.... I saw you on OH Blvd in Hermitage one day last week
I live in Hermitage. Been there for 15 years or so now. Time flies. Heck Carl , remember FireRandySanders.com? haha.. That site was pretty good for a while. Seems like yesterday. Come to think about it. It's about when things finally went south for a long time in Vol land. You saw it, i saw it. Mike Hamilton was a disaster to this program. Let Fulmer get complacent. Rewarded him for it.

For still having a chance to win SEC East with an unbelievable amount of injuries to key players and key positions, with three starters making bad decisions and leaving or being made to leave program. We could have put a season together like Mich St, Notre Dame, Oregon, or some other teams that have had less happen to them in a season.

Now just need to win out and recruit well down the stretch.

Because regardless of the end score they provided me with 4-5 and even 6 hours of downtime to relax and enjoy my favorite team

UT alum here, living in Alabama, with two students in Knoxville at the moment.
Agree with OP. I've enjoyed this season - Sleeping on the sofa in my kids apartment in Fort Sanders, spending time with them - win or lose, great to be with them.

So far, been to these:
App State
Bristol
Florida
Bama
T-A&M

will go to:
Mizzou
Vandy

I'm stuck with the Vols. Got too much invested in them to ever bail out. It's a way of life. Thanks OP for keeping it positive.

P.S. Bama is on top of the world now, but as we saw in the recent election - the world changes. There will come a day when they will get a chink in the armor and wander in the wilderness again. Tennessee is on the way up (you'd never know it reading some of these posts) and WILL return to powerhouse in the future.

Thankful for the grit they've displayed and the fact they continue to be moving forward to national prominence again. All I have to do is reflect on Dooley/Kiffin and I'm thankful as hell.
