I really dont understand why we are playing so badly against 3 cupcake teams. Yes, I know that App State and V-Tech are better than cupcakes blah blah blah - but please dont tell me how good Ohio is. This is not another complaint filled, sky is falling thread - this is me trying to understand with all the talent we supposedly have and considering how well we played late last year (longest winning streak in quite awhile), why does it look like we are actually WORSE after having an entire off-season and returning most of the same team? Granted, our OC is questionable but our DC is supposedly one of the best in the league.

Our QB still cant throw, our receivers still cant catch the ball, our Oline is almost non-existant, our Dline has Jumper wandering around in the middle looking lost each play. We are getting injured all over the place, penalty flags are dropping like flies. Can someone with some football knowledge help me understand? Likke an actual analysis. The logic just does not compute...

What the hell have we been doing the last 9 months to make us play worse than we did last year?

Hope it's a ruse to lure Fla into a false sense of security, but if I'm betting on next weeks game, I'm betting Fla to win big. Hope to God we get a win this week and miraculous wins the next few weeks, but doesn't look good. GBO

That fire Butch thread disappeared quick. There is no point in creating those threads, it's not going to happen.

There's that bag of poop again?

Offensive play calling is probably the single biggest thing holding us back. O line is probably the second thing followed up closely with Dobbs complete inability to throw the ball down the field. He can't hit the deep pass to save his life.

I get that Debord is no Spurrier in his prime but that is gameplan. What I dont understand is why it seems the PLAYERS are simply not playing well. Does the scheme make that much difference to individual play?

If the line can't block and Dobbs can't throw, what exactly would you like the OC to call?

That's the second time you've posted that. I'll post this a second time. I think mine is more indicative of what is actually happening. (Unless that is a bag of poop meant to represent the offensive coaching staff).

I gotta admit JP, I just don't get it man. Everybody's too mad to have a discussion but it's confusing me completely. I understand them being upset with Jones what I don't understand is what is going on.

Just answering "Butch Jones" isn't totally explaining everything.
Same coach and team that dismantled Northwestern. They may not have been great, but they are at least as good as Ohio. One game is an anomaly, three is cause for concern.

Truth be told...The Vol's just are not a great football team. If it weren't for a missed extra point....they would have lost to Appy State. If it weren't for 5 turnovers by their opponent....they probably would have lost to VT. The offense is poorly coached, plain and simple. I see 5 losses coming up pretty quick if they don't get it together.

No discipline and our offensive coaching is horrendous. Add in our below average O-Line and Dobbs is a RB who is being told to throw the ball. We are going to struggle in SEC play

I thought that Vanderbilt had the worst coaching in the power 5 conferences. Now I'm sure that it's Tennessee.
