Why are we falling apart

We are at home. I knew 6-6 was it but I'm at a loss for words. I'm not upset just resigned. My son is 11 yrs old. My wifes family is bammers. I just cant keep watching this sh... I dont want to hear fair weather fan crap. This does not make sense. I'm not going to call out players or coaches. I havent had any alcohol YET
I'm just tired of it.
Golf or fish.....if not may I suggest meditation. A human shouldn't allow themselves to become emotionally involved in the outcome of any sporting event because any action you could physically take is not going to impact the outcome. Total drain of much needed energy that could be used for things more meaningful.

Do you realize Butch left about 9 seniors? Pretty incredible when you think about the large classes he was bringing in so he could get a decent recruiting ranking. Speaking of rankings...did you notice his last couple classes weren't ranked as high eventhough his numbers were high? A lot of these guys are 3-star roll players at best.
It took some of them awhile but many saw the truth about Butch and left. Pruitt is genuine as far as character but he better be careful. Kicking boards and jumping players asses in public can be consrtued as someone who isn't in control of themselves. Hell for all I know he may want out already not realizing the true mess the program is in. The mess isn't only in the physical sense.....it's mental and how players react to negative events. At Bama and other places the reaction isn't over-bearing. At UT it seems as though the panic button gets hit far too early. All it really comes down too is execution and fundamental football. The UT players haven't been taught correctly prior especially with Jones attempting to run RPO without all the fine tuned players needed. The players need to be taught the true science behind the entire philosophy of the scheme like the fine gears in a well made watch but that takes time so in the interim they are told to perform assignments. This is putting the cart ahead of the horse and causes questions if not confusion from the players simply because they don't know why. Saban worked for Belichek with the Browns long ago and defensive genuises evolved from that group, not only those two. UT has a 2nd generation component of that tree but that's half a team. The offense let UT down vs. UF. Tyson needs to explain the system to the players or it maybe a case of revolving around the offensive line which alternative plays should have been incorporated in early spring. The coaching staff needs to gel as a unit in this case. Sorry for rambling. It's not gonna be easy or overnight.

BIG PROBLEMS ON ROCKY TOP?

This felt like a throwaway season before it even started... Now that a bowl game is out of reach, let's just hope we work some young guys into the rotation and hold the recruiting class together. Not much to cheer for in the short run.

I'm curious since this particular idea seems dear, what exactly are they doing or not doing that should fix this?
The practice videos show low energy and a very ho hum atmosphere, exactly how they play on the field. Practice hard, play hard. Practice soft, play soft. With the exception of a few people most of the team seems to be just going through the motions game after game.

Because we have allowed Jimbo to have his hand in the cookie jar for ten years and allowing him to bring puppets to head the AD and the Administration. And he has been forcing them to go after the type of coaches he wanted instead of what we need.

The Haslams are a deadly cancer that is slowly killing our beloved Vols.

I know one of the players (offensive starter) that has said from day one the intensity level from this staff from S&C, to individual workouts, to practice is on a much higher level than the last guy.

I think what your confusing is poorly coached and cultured football players that are either having to think way too much right now because they dont know where or why they are going or guys that cant accept change.

I keep saying I'm going to ease up and I really have considering before marriage and kids i would be angry until Tuesday of the following week... but I have been watching UT since I was 7 or 8 yrs old (says my mom). Now I'm only 43 but that is atleast 35 yrs of rooting for the state team.
I can say these last 10 yrs is making it easier to become a casual fan.

No that's the truth, what did you expect Pruitt to do come in and in 9 months totally change how the players are after they had been doing nothing right for years. These players are mentally fragile any kind of negative and they shut down. Nothing you can do but recruit over them because there is nobody on the current roster to take their place

These kids won 4 games last year.
They still expect bad things to happen.

I don’t know how you overcome that

You sit them. Let the Freshman and Sophomores play through the rest of the season, Hell after getting beat up by UGA, Bama and AU, some of the young guys might think playing SCar is easy and actually win an SEC game by mistake.

Pruitt better start thinking and playing for the future or he will fall into this same hole Butch dug and in 3-4 years all his guys will know is losing too.

Here is Pruitt’s challenge. He has players Butch left. They are under developed (few well drilled fundamentals) and under strength. He has freshman most of whom didn’t arrive until two months ago. Both groups do not yet fit the systems CJP wants to run. Add to that there is a cultural problem of softness left in Butches players.
Florida has a new HC and staff but they were not soft and the schemes are not that new to the players. At least the FL players had been developed since thay arrived and have had good S&C.
Despite Pruitt’s challenge without the 6 turnovers we could have won. The fundamentals causing most of the turnovers will be cleaned up. Don’t expect it next week.
