Why all the Kiffin chatter?

I would go with "action". Other than leaving at the absolute worst possible moment, he was doing a lot of good for the program.

He was a joke and a loser, never having won anywhere.

His coaches was the same where did any win as a HC?

As a Vol fan, I can't stand this guy. He is an opportunistic prick and his heart was NEVER in the SEC. It makes me sick that there are those of you still talking smack about Fulmer and worshiping this traitor Kiffin. I wanna win just as much as everyone else and I want an NC so bad I can't stand it HOWEVER you simply can't deny Fulmer's love of the game, the university and the respect his players had for him. He's a true Vol through and through and I think he deserves some respect. As for Dooley, I have no idea what to say. I think gun shy is an accurate description of most fans. But he's our coach, he's who we've got so GET ON BOARD OR Shut off! Good God, y'all sound like a bunch of dixie chicks... ever hear of loyalty? :aggressive:

I could not agree with you more....wish his name would never be mentioned on this board again!

It was just a comparison. Do you really not understand that reference?

I've just never noticed that chicks from Dixie have a particular sound. All the chicks I've ever heard sound pretty much the same no matter the region.

If we don't win another game we're better off without Kiffin.

I sometimes wonder what would of happened if Fulmer and Clausen were still here....we had kept the recruits they were building including that QB Tajh Boyd to trully run the spread.....would it have gotten worse, stayed the same, or gotten better? I guess we'll never know now.

This.

We will never know. Instead we went with a really, really bad experiment, that really, really backfired. The only thing that can make it right now is if Dooley really is a younger version of his mentor Saban (and I hope like heck he is).

Except that Fulmer was going to fire Clawson had he been retained.

You've said something like this a couple of times. I didn't know if you thought Clawson would jump ship, or if Fulmer would fire him.

It seems out of character for Fulmer. I would have thought most of the anti-Fulmer crowd would applaud such a move as loyalty was a weakness in their eyes.

Has Fulmer say that's what he intended to do? Just wondering what gives you the notion he would?

He said he was going to go in a different direction with the OC. He also didn't even bother to call Dave and let him know when he got the axe.

kpt, How do you know he was doing good for this program? He was 7-6! Just think if Fulmer was not fired Tennessee would have probably beaten Wyoming and he might have finished 7-6. All you Kiffin lovers are using a LOSS to Florida and a LOSS to Alabama to anoint Kiffin as great. Don't forget the LOSS at HOME to a mediocre UCLA!!! He LOST at home to a so so Auburn team that ran a trickplay backyard offense. Kentucky was a struggle. Ole Miss made UT look like a cellar team. And VaTech toyed with UT. Monte the great moved the defense from No.3 in the nation to No. 22. Kiffin is a disaster waiting to happen. He screamed constantly about the lack of talent at UT. Let's see 6 NFL draft choices a top 10 recruiting class and he still had a 7-6 record. His mouth gets old. After 3 or 4 years players, coaches and fans will be sick of his crap!!! He will have token success at USC. USC, Texas, and Florida are the easiest jobs in the nation. You can recruit from your backyard with a megaphone and get a top 5 class. He is a loser. His experience and record is below Dooley's. Wake up and read the facts honestly!!

Not sure Fulmer getting fired made Nick Stephens throw passes directly to Cowboy defenders with clear paths to the endzone. As I recall, Nick wasn't even that fond of Phil. When last season ended, I posted a Saban quote about his first season at a program. He essentially said the wins and losses don't matter because that's not what it's about. It's about installing a system, getting the right players, and then we'll start winning a lot of games. Lo and behold, a year after losing to Louisiana Monroe he has an undefeated regular season. The next year it's a BCS Championship.

The UT players were buying in and practicing hard. A glimpse at the recruiting board would tell you a heck of a lot of good players were on the way. 2010 might have been another building year, but big things were coming. You could see it on the horizon before the course changed.
