As a Vol fan, I can't stand this guy. He is an opportunistic prick and his heart was NEVER in the SEC. It makes me sick that there are those of you still talking smack about Fulmer and worshiping this traitor Kiffin. I wanna win just as much as everyone else and I want an NC so bad I can't stand it HOWEVER you simply can't deny Fulmer's love of the game, the university and the respect his players had for him. He's a true Vol through and through and I think he deserves some respect. As for Dooley, I have no idea what to say. I think gun shy is an accurate description of most fans. But he's our coach, he's who we've got so GET ON BOARD OR Shut off! Good God, y'all sound like a bunch of dixie chicks... ever hear of loyalty? :aggressive:

Vol fans "should" stop comparing Dooley to Kiffin... even those who think Kiffin was clearly better. All it can possibly do is build up a guy who made it abundantly clear that UT and Vol fans were NOT good enough for him.

Kiffin knew about this board. A guy with that kind of ego probably knows that he's still a hot topic of convesation... and if he does that he's getting off on it.

It never ceases to amaze me how many Kiffin apologists there are among Vol fans. Even if you don't share my opinions on his character, you cannot possibly deny that his actions were detrimental to the program.

I think people are trying to make themselves feel better about Dooley by posting about how awful Kiffin is/was.

I would go with "action". Other than leaving at the absolute worst possible moment, he was doing a lot of good for the program.

He doesn't know. He assumes. We just justify those assumptions with every stupid thread we make about him.

No question about that, most people (myself included) thought we'd be competing for the SEC in 2-4 years. Aside from the almost certain probation we would've gotten, the program was headed in the right direction.

I don't know about almost certain probation. There've been a lot of schools lately accused of worse whose punishment ranged from nothing to a slap on the wrist.

I sometimes wonder what would of happened if Fulmer and Clausen were still here....we had kept the recruits they were building including that QB Tajh Boyd to trully run the spread.....would it have gotten worse, stayed the same, or gotten better? I guess we'll never know now.

I saw Tajh Boyd in Clemson's spring game. He looked marginally better than Matt Simms.

We would have continued to be a 7-9 win program.

He's also a RS frosh coming off an injury, while Simms has been playing JUCO ball the last two years. Not taking Boyd was really the only Kiffin made decision I had a problem with.

Boyd will never start at Clemson as long as Kyle Parker is there.

Being skeptical about a new coach doesn't mean you lack loyalty.

That's not what I'm suggesting. I think we are all hesitant to completely invest ourselves into this new coaching staff. However, whining and going on about Kiffin and his magic moment at UT isn't gonna change anything. Furthermore I find the insults about Fulmer to be in very bad taste. It's just embarrassing. This is a TN VOL board and Fulmer is an f'in VOL and has shown loyalty and sincerity. The insults are childish and unnecessary.

What he does at Clemson is not really the point. Kyle Parker could be gone anyways. Do you think Nick Lamasion for Boyd was a fair trade? I'd personally take Boyd over Lamaison and Simms together.

Simms/Lamaison, yes. There's no way I would trade Tyler Bray to get Boyd though.
