So, I gotta few religious folks on my Facebook page and they all keep equating Trump with some religious second coming. He's gonna save this country for the Christians and other similar nonsense. Why have the religious folks so fervently hitched their wagon to Trump? He doesn't seem to religious and he sure as hell doesn't seem to embody Christian ideal, so why the weird support?

Maybe he will put Godly people around him similar to the what the pharaohs did. I'd agree that Trump isn't a Godly person, but he doesn't come across as downright evil.

Because you have a couple of looney friends who use the term "Christian" doesn't mean that the majority of Christians are championing for Trump. When it comes to this election, there isn't a viable choice really for Christians, both of these candidates are evil and just about as far away from Christianity as you can get.

I see a similar movement on my FB feed, and it baffles me as well, except... Most of the Christians I see champion Trump from a strictly political perspective and not a religious perspective. They are surely championing Trump, but not as though he's a Godly man. They seem to champion him as the only choice against Hillary.

It's little difference from the leftists who champion Hillary, even though she's, at best, amoral. Proven corrupt. Incompetent at best when it comes to state secrets... She's a crap candidate that the left defend as the only salvation for the country. Why? Because that's what she is, or because they're more afraid of Trump per their ideals?

I would rather just answer your question plainly than start a religious debate.

I don't know any fellow Christians that look at Trump as a sort of savior. However, we agree with his stance on the issues most important to believers (notably: abortion). To understand (and you don't have to agree): we believe that abortion is the same crime/sin as intentionally murdering a young child for convenience.

Doesn't make a lick of sense I agree. It's as puzzling to me as why supposedly educated people gravitate towards Hillary.

Hillary came on the news this morning giving her speech in North Carolina... she said several of her supporters had come up to her claiming their head and bellies were hurting bc they were so worried about trump..My 13 yr old daughter speaks up and says.... what a bunch of fragile pansies. I have taught her well. LOL

It's not a coincidence that religion and the Republican party are dying the same slow death.

I wouldn't say that religion is dying out... it's just that the Republican party didn't get the memo that the truly prosperous religion of today's politics is "Spirit Cooking" and Satanism.

This basically, even the ones I know here in Georgia who supports him. It has nothing to do with him being a Godly man, but a few issues like you mentioned.

Trump isn't solidly prolife. That's a bit of a put on. He recanted his hard stance a week after he made it in the spring, and his comments in the debates were ambiguous.
