According to Gribble: Neal, Brewer, and Mitchell-Thornton are up, while Poole, Worley and Propst are down.

Accurate list?

pool is not down, he's a stud, and he has to stay healthy. he will run hard in real games. all it takes is that one hit and he's out. They are saving him for when it really counts. he will start no matter what Neal does in scrimmage games.

I have a hard time believing Neal has overtaken Poole after one scrimmage where he tore it up against the 2nd team D. If Poole were to flop in all the scrimmages, then maybe there might be something there. And how has Worley dropped? From 3rd string to 4th?

Neal ran against the first team D, and Poole the 2nd. I agree, I have a hard time believing he passed Poole based on 1 scrimmage regardless.

he went 4 for 14 on a day with 40mph winds... hes not down.. he's just human... bray and simms didn't light it up either... plus i'm hoping our defense is just nasty

You think the LB's we put out there will make this D nasty?

I never go off the results of the first scrimmage, if there are still players having issues during the O&W game then I will worry, but right now it's way too early to tell

There is nothing wrong with noting who underperformed as long as we aren't panicked/paranoid about results from the first scrimmage. I have no problem with this thread.

I'm more concerned about whether JJ is on the team than a 1st scrimmage performance. Although I find it interesting that Neal got 1st team reps regardless of how they played out. I question why he got them and if he gets them at the OW game 1st.

I agree. It doesn't really claim that these people have passed others on the depth chart (in either direction) just that those who did well may have caused some to sit up and take more notice of them. Conversely, if there were unrealistic expectations imposed on kids like Worley, maybe there is now a splash of cold water realism.

That's all, just relatively up or down an increment from before.

Concern with first scrimmage stats a wise man does not have.

Thanks General, my thoughts exactly. In fact, having been in a few scrimmages, I'm wondering just how accurate the stats are? Scrimmages are too situational to be a true reflection of, well, anything!

Worely is down ? Is the sky falling yet ?
Shame on Worely for not throwing for 300 yds and 5 TDs even though he probably doesnt even know 5 % of the playbook yet.

Haha, hmmm...Our D isnt nasty. Our coaches think our team is tuuurable. Our O will be better than our defense. We need another year or 2 to start thinking about callin our D nasty.

D should be nasty when they know exactly what the O is going to do every play. Spring ball is just to get people familiar with the playbook. You don't pick your starters for the first game in the spring.
